Yeah, but as long as the actally do ‘seek out new life and new civilizations’ as they tell the tired dick jokes, they are still one up and pretty much any other ‘serious’ sci fi show that is out there currently.

I agree and hope this gets discussed more--it’s not the jokes themselves, but the types of jokes. I’m not saying there couldn’t ever be a dick joke in there, but it should fit the situations and be used sparingly. I actually think that many of the non-slapstick jokes have worked quite well and like how they

Hopefully you’ve read the other comments on here and know you aren’t alone. I too keep worring about the general response to this show, but apparently it’s getting very good viewer reviews, and hopefully the ratings will stay strong. No need to talk of cancellation yet...

IMO this show is a breath of fresh air in a world where a new Star Trek series, formerly a beacon of optimism and hope, launches with bridge officers attacking each other before kicking off an intergalactic war.

Yes, and now we’re finally getting more TNG type goodness from CBS Fox with some new Star Trek: Discovery Orville. Yay!

I’m with you.

I’m with you.

I’m with you.

I’ll go one further and say that the initial 8 were already around 3-5 too many.

Maybe this is just what happens when you get old, but does anyone else think that there and in make up, he just looks like a dispshit millennial? I mean, who’s afraid of a 20-something? (For comparison Tim Curry was 44 when he played the part on the TV mini-series.)

Uh, isn’t that pretty much what the anime was? But with the bonus of artwork? I watched the series on Neflix in English and the performances were just fine—Light and L specifically were very good.

When I click the link it says $29.88. Am I missing something?

God forbid anyone not like the idea of a fictional character being a woman just because they don’t like the idea of that fictional character being a woman—especially a character with 50 years of history of not being woman--and for no other real world reasons, personal beliefs, etc.

More stars to you.

I don’t know about night changes, I might have even had a DVR by that point and it didn’t matter. I’ll tell you why it tanked, if anyone else is like me—I’d watched Stargate since around season 3 or 4 on Showtime all the way through Atlantis, and the new show was not just “tedious and drawn out,” it wasn’t Stargate.

Oh, I know what it means, it just makes no sense. — We have popular properties that are no where near worn out yet. But lets not continue them, let’s keep churning out new shows like we’re still a fledgling network looking for its first break out hit.

Right, and maybe god forbid they just don’t come out with a new show for a bit and focus on some more seasons of your current hits.

I totally agree even though it will never happen. If you make a really good story, it should have a solid story arc. Then, if everyone is happy, you make another really good story that follows or ties to the first in whatever level is appropriate to the story. Anything else is meta for business reasons only.
