Humans are very, very good at rationalizing whatever we do as for the best. “If I don’t do this he’ll ruin my career”, “as his lawyer it’s not just my job but my duty to be his defender and advocate”, “it’s not illegal to gather information and it’s not for me to assign blame”, “if they didn’t want his attention I’m

Of course it would have been. But sexual assault is never about sex. It’s always about power.

“According to Farrow, two Black Cube investigators met with Rose McGowan under fake names, with one claiming to be a women’s rights advocate who secretly recorded multiple meetings with McGowan.”

I think Valencia just feels relieved, to be honest. She is so over Josh, and probably at this stage feels grateful she’s no longer stuck in a relationship with that human flip-flop.

I enjoyed this episode more on re-watching, it was too stressful on first watch, especially the beginning with Rebecca’s put-downs.

I would love for this show to end on its own terms, when it makes sense narratively, so 4 or mayyyybe 5 seasons is what I expect. Frankly, a lot of shows I’ve loved have kept going longer than they should have.

I think the creators have said upfront that their plan is for 4 seasons. And it’s rare for a CW show to end after 3 seasons, they usually try for 4 or 5 because Netflix/syndication deals is how they make a lot of their money.

As heartbreaking and masterful as this episode was... the only things better than naive Nathaniel’s adorably, hilariously cocky “We did it. TWICE. So I know her better than all of you” were the next-level eye-roll responses from Paula and Valencia. And then he describes her as “zany but cute” like the season 2 theme

I think it was less Santino wanted to leave, more that there was such a long time between when they filmed season 1 and when they found out that it had been renewed, that he had received an offer in the meantime and wasn’t in a position to say no on the chance that CXG was picked up for a second season.

I can’t really think of anything to say. This episode was just so well done.

On the back of this, I’m so glad that Paula and Valencia talked about what Rebecca brought up about Paula, and that Paula acknowledged that she’s done fucked up things. She didn’t try to excuse it or deny it or blame it on Rebecca, which she easily could have done.

I’m OK with Josh Grobans and a singing Santa Ana winds - but my credulity is srained beyond repair at the thought of Paula implanting trackers in Valencia’s shoulder ...

I yelled NOOO! NOOOO!! when Rebecca and Greg’s dad started making out!

Naw it’s gonna be 4 seasons. They said they wanted to do 4 seasons, it’s easily the most critically acclaimed show on the channel, and CW almost never cancels anything.

I was thinking she’d end up in jail but those are also possibilities.

He initially had a one year contract, and after season 1, they thought the show wasn’t going to get renewed (it’s a great show with bad ratings), so he signed on to other projects. When they did get renewed though, he had made other commitments so they only had him for a certain time. Aline Brosh McKenna said there’s

My favourite sight gag was in the scene where Rebecca was standing in front of all the carnival props after Josh walked away from her. As the camera pulled out, it revealed a poster on the wall that said, “Butter won’t save you now”. This show is genius.

There’s so much to unpack in this episode. Even though this show is incredible, I still never thought ”That text wasn’t meant for Josh” could be topped, but this episode was pure brilliance.

Also, Allison: wonderful analysis of the lyrics to “The End of the Movie.” My untrained ear can tell the song is well written but you’ve nailed why that is. I love that the songs on this show manage to be both funny and actually... pleasant... to listen to?

I don’t know what to say, honestly I’m sort of a mess after that episode. I literally started yelling when Rebecca and Greg’s dad starting making out.
