So, Issa has unprotected sex while high with this sexy new guy we don’t know much about. And in the same episode, Lawrence returns. If this was a network show, that would mean only one thing: pregnancy.

I liked it. It’s dark and moody, and Adams is excellent. I hope they have enough material for eight episodes though, or it could be slow going.
Yeah, there was something very elegant about this movie. It’s a simple story, well told, that works on a lot of levels. And I found the central conflict pretty affecting.
Good review. I really enjoyed the show and I was disappointed there were only four episodes. I want more!
The first episode was really good! Cumberbatch is going to win awards for this performance.
This movie sounds lovely but can I just warn people away from the new Binoche film “Let the Sunshine in”? It’s shite, and I don’t know if professional reviewers will say that so bluntly of a Claire Denis film. I hope it’s the worst movie I see at the cinema in 2018.
I loved the build-up to Rebecca’s diagnosis in the first half of the season. It was dark and great, and exactly what I thought the show should be.
Your comment nails it. Would recommend again!
Yeah, I could see that. Maybe they share custody?
I thought this was much better than the previous episode. It’s not that I liked everything that was happening or anything, but individually each scene worked better, because the writing was sharper and funnier.
Oh Christ, you’re right! What a horrible thought. And it seems like something this show would do.
You forgot about Dunkirk! I loved the dive bombers over the beach, but you could have chosen any number of moments from that movie.
Deletesies
I think it’s supposed to be a reflection of the mixed messages we receive about people acting crazy, especially women.
This is how I feel about all the reviews of that show The Orville. Seth MacFarlane’s in it? I’m out.
Noooooo! Not Dro, Molly! Ugh, Molly can’t break away from the good Dro sex. I don’t like it but it rings true. That’s the best kind of tv twist; I was suprised when it happened, but in retrospect I should have seen it coming. And I guess she doesn’t tell her therapist about him either? I look forward…
This is a lovely, generous review. I have to think that this reviewer’s take is what the season was aiming for. But I was very disappointed and annoyed by the show in the end.
Haha, yes, I noticed that too about Tiffany! I wondered if I was reading too much into it or was Tiff cheating on Derek. Is Tiffany having Fred’s baby?!
This episode of Top of the Lake: China Girl is worth watching if you want to see the worst meet-the-parents scenario of all time, featuring the most repellent boyfriend imaginable and the most tolerant, liberal parents. Prepare to be appalled and/or blackly amused, depending on your sense of humour.
Another commenter (above in this thread) received a reply claiming that it’s still happening, so I won’t give up hope just yet.
