I finally, belatedly got around to watching that last season this week, and finished it off last night. It does feel rushed (though the episodes are long), constricted (only two locations really) and has a lot of headscratchers. (what does the Night’s Watch even do now? what are these imported armies going to do? Is

Stephen Dillane seems like part of the proud tradition of British actors to not give too many fucks about what he does to pay his mortgage

So they added a rape where there was not one because they thought it was exciting, had a rape between Jaime and Cersei that “became consensual”--and then tried to write a series where the south won...why on earth could anybody find these showrunners problematic?

I believe the phrase you’re looking for is “thoughts and prayers.”

Hope Claudia doesn’t have a serious case and fully recovers.

He said “Eating is cheating...” C’mon man!  What are you doing at a baking show, head over to the Pottery judging instead!? Maybe he has allergies though...

I’ll tell you what though, Matt Lucas was brilliant on Catterick with Vic and Bob.

I agree with you completely. I’m not particularly a fan of Little Britain but I really enjoy Matt in this role and far prefer him to Sandy, who seemed like a nice person but wasn’t very funny or entertaining

I guess it’s important that Noel remain healthy, but I really like knowing what someone who isn’t an experienced or professional baker thinks of the bakes. :-)

Looks amazing!

I am really disappointed that Mak was sent home instead of Rowan. He may not have been as aspirational as Rowan, but, between the two, we’ve actually seen Mak deliver a quality bake. And, frankly, I just like him more.

Surprised that they're still doing handshakes and also surprised that Rowan survived.

Are they as good as Ted Lasso’s?

I liked the signature and technical challenges this week but I’m really over the challenges where they have to build stuff out of biscuits. To be fair before this season, I watched a lot of the specials with celebrities and there seemed to be a lot of making structures out of gingerbread on there.

Maybe it’s the sharp contrast to the outside world but this show is really back to hitting the sweet spot for me. Aside from exhausting, straight from central casting Rowan, the whole group is adorable this year and I’m rooting for them all.

The judges and bakers talk about practicing their bakes. How are they doing so, now that they’re in their production bubble? Or do they mean back before they went into production?

Those Stray Observations answers the question of if Kate reads the comments.  If by chance she does this week, they have practice kitchens inside the bubble.  Was definitely surprised that Mak was eliminated instead of Rowan, even if I get their reasoning.  I just have a hard time believing Rowan will ever execute

The Himalayas scene was both one the most non-sensically-silly and awesome scenes ever. As was the destruction of L.A., with its death defying limo escape, and giant, bouncing donut. Awe inspiring ludicrousness, turned to 11.
