On second thought, maybe don’t change much of anything - try it again, as close to exactly as the recipe calls for. KA recipes are usually solid. They’re pretty responsive, too - shoot ‘em an email or ask questions on their blog. I bet you’ll get good answers quickly.

This is from my family’s traditional New Year’s Day dinner—slow-cooked pork and sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, and biscuits—which I cooked for myself since I couldn’t be “home” for that holiday.

Hey, I’m just earning to pay college tuition.  

I mean, aren’t you at least gonna’ buy me a drink first? This America’s Test Kitchen recipe that laminates the layers in a more formal pastry method than cutting with pastry knife.

Drop biscuits deserve a mention. They can be mixed up and baked pretty quickly, and are great with some butter and honey or jelly. They’re also good with beef stew.
