Knafeh is a colorful, gooey confection made from white cheese, stringy noodles or noodle-like pastry, and simple syrup.

There’s a slow news day, and then there’s this. 

They compliment each other so well. They’re essentially buttermilk shortcakes. And the semifreddo isn’t as sweet as a lot of ice creams, so it ends up being more like a play on biscuits with butter or clotted cream. 

But they do contain BUTTAH.

Note to servers out there: you know how the line cooks always grumble and roll their eyes and bitch you out whenever you put in an order that deviates even a little from the menu, or when someone has a complaint about their food, or even if you have to ask them a question about the food they’re preparing?

Its really depressing that people will more easily believe they’ve fallen into an alternate universe than just accepting they were wrong about something.

Absolutely fucking no. Not only should they not have to tip, their free shift drink should be served with a goddamned “thank you”.

Tips shouldn’t be expected from staff. You’re all in the fight together, plus in this case FOH already makes more money than BOH. Any FOH that gets mad that BOH doesn’t tip for an after-shift drink is a dick.

I don’t understand why people are acting shocked and treating this as a pivot on the practice of tipping. This isn’t anti-tipping advice, this a statement advocating WORKER SOLIDARITY.

Yeah, this is huge. A Gawker/Gizmodo/GO Media blog actually said there was a situation in life where you shouldn’t tip.  I’m gonna go check and see if Hell has frozen over.

In my experience bartenders have always refused a tip on my shift drink. That is just a shady bartender who takes it IMO
