Yeah it feels like GM is 5 years late to the Expensive EV Status Symbol party. Maybe they’ll pull it off with the center-USA big truck crowd versus Tesla with the costal-crowd?

In fall 2023, a fully loaded RST First Edition model, also delivering a 400-mile range, will debut with an MSRP of $105,000 + DFC
I don’t know if I fully trust the language around the “WT”. Maybe I should go read the actual press release. If I was going to place a bet, I’d guess the $40K SilEVrado is going to have a battery the same capacity as the Chevy Bolt. This battery is 3x smaller than the Hummer EV (65kW vs. 200kW).
I am waiting for the article where Erik tests drives one of these and the battery is down to almost no charge and a charging station is hundreds of miles away.....in.....NEBRASKA.
I’m right behind you most of the way, but why do you think the battery wouldn’t work on a regular cab? I would assume this uses the same flat packaged battery that the Hummer EV uses. So as long as the wheelbase doesn’t change there’s not much reason a regular cab isn’t feasible.
I am not sure about actual statistics, but I imagine that a large percentage of pickups are purchased by businesses either by small, self-employed, contractors and workers or by medium and larger business as fleet vehicles. And for those businesses, there are some significant tax savings that help offset the initial…
I like the Hummer exterior a lot better than this. This interior is nice though.
But again, the WT trim lets them claim that this is a “regular truck,” even if you* end up buying the $70k version.
Even among early adopters, there’s going to be a portion that wants something that at least pretends to be practical.
Certainly looks better than the hummer, and the interior...for once...is pleasant to look at. I think they are being awfully ambitious to think this is going to be anything but a novelty for early adopters with toys and money. Work Truck? sure...
A breakdown worthy of any Matlock episode. Or - you’re with the NTSB and are going to crucify this jackass.
I’m quite certain the FAA is going to nail his ass to the wall. They will have likely already reached the same conclusions as you and now its down to painting an exact trail of evidence. He might even catch criminal charges for this level of stupidity.
When looking at the airplane locations and headings, they don’t make sense:
Yeah, better to link to videos revealing how incredibly likely it is that this was faked like:
So will the NTSC. Oops.
There was never any fear in his eyes.
Thais was obviously staged. Convenient cameras to document everything, no real attempt to restart the engine as far as I can tell. Most of all, he never once looked scared. There was never fear in his eyes.
The insurance company will be taking a hard look at this, particularly why the engine died.
Wish the video would show what the hell these people are hitting, since it’s conveniently hidden behind the damn bush. Or even the article, that would’ve been helpful.
Set radio to scan. Watch it scan all the way around and back to a loon reading scripture.
