“And the ICE engine is likely to be purely a generator.”
“And the ICE engine is likely to be purely a generator.”
I only know about three people who have been to a Chicago Fire MSL game in the past five or six seasons. And they average 15,000 fans in a stadium (Soldier Field) that holds 61,000. So they should probably just shut that whole thing down. I honestly don’t know why the MSL even exists.
I vaguely recall being a kid in the 90s and my dad had to run the heat in his pickup truck on really hot days because otherwise the engine would overheat!
If they’re gunning for top speed with this thing again, Ice would still help tremendously at the top end so they can focus on acceleration and the in between for the electrics I would think.
What you’re describing is a Chevy Bolt. It’s a genuine shame they killed it off already.
Want this suburban commuter to get into an EV ? Great! I’d love it! But bring the purchase price down, incl having EV “economy cars” avail (something in the price range of a base to mid-level Civic or Corolla). Have a minimum 200 mi. range be the standard. Create a reliable and easily available charging network.
A split-fuel market isn’t a bad thing. It gives more flexibility.
Very well said, I was thinking exactly the same. EV’s and efficient vehicles aren’t getting “screwed” by this and gas guzzlers aren’t necessarily getting some unfair benefit from it. More like it’s taking away the current free pass heavy EV’s are getting, and eliminates the subsidy that gassers are currently paying to…
I think this argument distracts from the point of the gas tax in the first place, which isn’t to encourage efficiency but as a way to pay for infrastructure that everyone uses. The idea behind it being a gas tax was that it used to be generally true that heavier cars used more fuel and cause more roadway damage so…
Million dollar idea: "Ionized" magnets that you place in certain locations in the car to increase range. The magnets force the electrons to flow in a smooth straight line making it more efficient. A 4 pack of magnets only costs $150.
A “Fuel Shark” for EVs? Damn! I could just kick myself for not thinking of this! Maybe it’s not too late to hawk one for solar panels!
I’m honestly curious if I actually would fall for someone running a scam in the biotech industry. With just a sales pitch and no real look under the hood, it’s hard to form a critical, well-reasoned opinion on some new product or service that promises something revolutionary.
“Everyone should be questioning how DC officials entered into a contract with a known con artist, using taxpayer funds to pay him for a device whose technology can be easily debunked.”
Wait, $14,000 per vehicle to install this shit? I don’t care if it actually worked, that’s more half of the cost of the car itself! Ahh, government spending at its finest.
the stock market is a barrel of fucking monkeys. we really really dont need it. all the money and numbers are made up.
Unfortunately the largest quantities of stocks are held by a small number of individuals or firms. Their goal is to extract as much value and wealth in as short a period of time as possible. That leads to the dominance of short term thinking, at the expense of long term stability.
This one is also Korean-made, FWIW.
The Chinese version gets the larger 1.5T engine.
That dash looks absurd, but overall, I think costs were cut in the right places. It looks premium for the segment. It is a far more attractive package than most crossovers starting in the mid $20k range.
Lol how you scoff at rebadged Korean cars when this is a Chinese car.
