Did the cops tase the guy who pulled the gun on the couple at the end of that clip?

While I also think making gender reveals a whole “event” is lame, this doesn’t sound anywhere near as irresponsible as using pyrotechnics during fire season. They presumably hired a professional pilot to do this, and unfortunately something went wrong. This would be equivalent to crashing while sky-writing.
To me, this isn’t as ridiculous as some of the other deaths related to gender reveals (usually fire-related...). Those are often people literally playing with fire who have no idea what they’re doing, and don’t respect the danger of the situations they’re putting themselves (and others) in for something so frivolous.…
Millennium-class cruise ships use cogen for their power requirements (I’m assuming by “cogen” you mean “combined cycle” that uses waste heat from the gas turbine to make steam for a separate steam turbine). Of course cruise ships have much higher electrical loads, including their main propulsion, so that probably…
By contrast, the steam turbines used on later steamships look absolutely tiny by comparison (relative to their power outputs). Of course, that’s until you see how big the boilers that supply their steam are...
Trying to machine turbine blades in an efficient gas turbine is also really expensive.
It would probably take quite a while to offset the costs. These diesel giants are within a few % of being just as efficient as a gas/steam turbine cogeneration plant.
“New Yorkers are getting shot and police officers are out on the street, all day and all night, trying to stop adding to the bloodshed,” PBA President Patrick J. Lynch said. “Where are these City Council members? Safe at home, hiding behind their screens and dreaming up new ways to give criminals a free pass charges…
All the more reason to defund the police.
I’d also like to see cars with less than 4 doors exempted from this rule. That would allow pretty much anything considered “fun” to be powered by whatever the manufacturer chooses, and they sell in such low numbers that banning them wouldn’t do anything meaningful for helping the climate.
Nothing Tesla makes is faster than a 911 Turbo S in any metric. Maybe the Model S Plaid will be quicker from 0-60, but that remains to be verified.
It’s weird how many people here are absolutely giddy about a future automotive landscape of electronic “mobility appliances” that are completely indistinguishable from each other on anything but the most superficial level.
I could see the 911 Turbo S becoming a hybrid (or at least having a hybrid version). Basically sticking the 918's electrical components in a 911 body. 0-60 could probably easily be sub-2s.
And even there, the 911 Turbo S still beats any EV currently in production. Maybe the Model S Plaid will beat it, but given Tesla’s tendency to overstate things, we’ll have to wait and see for that one.
There are only 2 states in the Contiguous US that are composed entirely of peninsulas. One is Florida. The other is Michigan. Given that and other...similarities...between the two, I can confidently say Michigan is the Florida of the North (as someone who lives here in Florida of the North). Maybe Idaho can be the…
I’m pretty sure Michigan is on every Kinja/Gawker site at least once per week. Not usually for anything we should be proud of...
If you made it that long without a car, what made you decide to get one?
But Teslas (with the notable exception of the Model S) are still ugly, even if they don’t look “futuristic.”
Isn’t that how the defense of anything bigoted always goes?
Lifetime movies aren’t exactly known for nuance though, are they?
