Porsche didn’t lazily call their first SUV a “911 Sportcross”, nor did Lamborghini call the Urus a “Diablo XL” (which is admittedly a MUCH cooler name than “Mach E”). They called these products new names instead of creating tenuous links to completely unrelated products under the same brand.

They could drop a V8 in it and it still wouldn’t be a Mustang either. If they bothered to make it LOOK like a Mustang beyond just the taillights, I’d still think it was a stupid idea, but I’d at least give them an “A” for effort.

And actual buttons around it as well.

It looks better than a Model 3 (not that the Bolt is sexy - it’s just that the Model 3 is that hideous) and has an interior that looks like it took actual effort to design.

Um...the Volt isn’t an EV, and even in its most recent incarnation got nowhere near 100 miles on battery alone. If you mean the Bolt, it’s always had over 200 miles of battery range.

With the direction Tesla’s been going with their interiors lately, the Roadster will hardly be a true “enthusiast’s” car, unless what you’re enthusiastic about isn’t actually cars.
