Plus no one is gonna complain about the weight penalty of lugging literally a ton (or more) of batteries around, since Hummers weren’t exactly known for being light on their feet...

Making merely “adequate” EVs won’t ever capture the public’s attention. Just look at how terribly the Bolt sells. They also need out-of-this-world numbers to justify the much higher price that EVs already go for anyway (a large part of the reason the Bolt doesn’t sell is because GM won’t market it outside of press…
They’re measuring torque after the transmission.
It’s still impressive that a RWD, naturally-aspirated car with less than 500 lb-ft of peak torque (and doesn’t benefit from the flat torque curve of a modern turbocharged engine) can hit 60 in a time comparable to multiple AWD, 1000+ lb-ft EV concepts. I can’t wait to see what the Z06 and ZR1 versions do.
*When battery is above 90%
It’s definitely at the axles. I’m betting torque measured at the motor’s output shaft is between 1,000-1,200.
Ok there’s at least 2 safe ones for now. Sorry, they got kinda lost in amongst Kid Rock, Betsy Devos, Ted Nugent, and the most recent edition Terry Crews. Not too sure how I feel about Steven Seagal...
*Insert Tyra Banks “We were rooting for you!” gif*
Don’t forget it’s also the name of their hands-free cruise control system. I don’t see any confusion at all. Nope, not one bit.
Um...me thinks you might wanna reread that. Point taken though.
Most people already see cars as mere transportation appliances anyway, so if (a BIG if) this ever truly takes off, most people will love it.
Ironic how their most reliable racing machines have been rotary-powered, while their conventionally (and diesel)-powered efforts have been laughably awful until recently. It’s unfortunate too, because they have the best-looking of the prototypes.
The only reason I even know about that is an article that popped up on my facebook feed yesterday. I was a toddler when it happened.
Funnily enough I’m still “loyal” to GM (although I currently drive a hand-me-down Taurus, but I’m looking at a CPO ATS when my Taurus dies), even though Pontiac was also my favorite brand (my hometown gave the car company its name after all). Ironically, FCA now almost has more of a presence in my hometown with…
They are (unfortunately) an increasingly bigger fraction though...
I think you’re thinking of the Jenny Jones Show, unless there was another one of these murders caused by the Jerry Springer Show.
He’s not some felon who had a phone snuck in as contraband; it sounds like he was just recently booked at the time and the prison staff failed to confiscate the phone when they processed him. Of course 12 years would still be excessive even if he was a felon, but since he’s not, it should be a slam-dunk to have this…
And the three phase, six pole, internal permanent magnet switched reluctance Tesla motor.
On the off chance Bloomberg even gets the Democratic nomination, I honestly won’t even bother voting for President in this year’s election. I’ll vote for the other positions up for grabs, but I’m not choosing between the regular racist and the stupid racist.
Not gonna lie, I definitely started noticing red baseball caps more after his election, but I still read what’s on them first before making assumptions.
