Dogfighting is my term for any aerial engagement, I apologize. It's a technicality man.

We're entering a new decade here man, the PAK-FA and J-21 are a new generation of stealthy fighters, although their stealth is hardly all-aspect.
I'm talking about air based radar. It was a discussion of taking out enemy air power— not ground based defenses.
The hate train is so bad it's unbearable. I seriously am glad to hear someone else have a brain about this.
First of all, I know the performance of the PAK FA from overblown Russian documents, some people want me to know about our competition. Even at the propaganda level, the Russia radar can only detect the F-22's radar signature at 25 nautical miles. It's not prototype as much as it's nearing production.
I didn't know people could carve out super-cruise engines.
The difference is, a battleship isn't practically invisible outside of 25 nautical miles. The F-22 can take out around 4-8 targets before RTB without even being identified as a hostile threat.
Right now it is the best air defense and aerial superiority fighter, so it's not hard to imagine it being used in a war with another developed nation. Sure, might not happen, but why give up the best?
20 years, that is, it cut me off.
Sir, there's no such thing as a single type of radar, please read. Different radars see it at different distances. Seriously, the highly advanced PAK-FA sees it at 25 due to its advanced type of radar, while most current fighters see it at 15.
Okay. Thanks, that's clever. I may not have flown into combat just yet, but I can tell you you're wrong— dogfighting is not simply within visual range combat, beyond visual range has much dogfighting involved.
The F-22 is the most powerful plane on the planet— nothing beats it in a dogfight. Nothing— the Eurofighter Typhoon may have beaten it at Red Flag recently, sure, but you underestimate it if you think that was an example of it.
Well when it comes to that, I'm your CO.
Great article. I wasn't really certain on our foreign sales, but my point is more about Russia and China selling arms to dictatorships who use them to kill their own people. I know in Egypt we got pummeled for selling arms to Egyptians, but we were quick to stop— Russia and China will sell arms to anyone who will…
First and foremost, I will never endorse carpet bombing a civilian population, I never signed up to kill but in defense of my country. I never did endorse that, and I never will.
+1
Man, I envy you. I could only go through active service planes... Which probably is something I need to touch up on for visual identifications.. Whoops.
Yep! Blame the USAF if I'm wrong though, haha.
I'm not an old school guy, but I'm pretty sure you're completely right.
I can agree with you there, I didn't sign up to kill or start wars though. I just feel the need to defend my country with my life. I'm very antiwar— I just see a real need for militaristic self defense, which is why I still believe in my military.
