See what Carlos Danger wrote below. It’s true that the police carry non-lethal weapons, but I doubt those would have been appropriate in this situation. It doesn’t seem like a Taser or pepper spray would do much good against a bullet.

About the wifi. Last month I took Amtrak from Oakland to Los Angeles, and sat in the coach section. Wifi is *not* available in coach on that route, only in business class. I’m not sure what the situation is on other routes. So you’ll have to pay more for business class or be prepared to do without.

The rollers in public thing was pretty common when I was growing up too (1980's Jersey City, NJ). Do people not use rollers anymore? I see all kinds of them for sale in Walgreens, so they must. But you don’t see people out and about in them anymore.
