Right? Something is def. amiss. She seems more panicky than happy.

The most telling part of the Letterman video to me is when Dave starts to go after Harvey, and she turns away with her mouth agape, in shock, laughing to conceal a bit of fear, almost.
Oh, 100% agree. Excellent insight.
I remember GP giving that speech, and it struck me as so odd and overly emotional in the wrong way, somehow. It made me really uncomfortable, and I remember the camera panning to her mother in the audience, and she looked sort of stricken at the state her daughter was in on that stage.
I imagine Gwyneth was told in no uncertain terms to praise Harvey and Miramax in her acceptance speech should she win — she was the odds-on favorite for the Oscar.
It’s good to be getting the message out that raping and sexual assault is not tolerable, especially in the workplace. Every story that comes out- Cosby, Bill O Reilly, Ailes, Weinstein- will make it easier for women to be able to do anything about this when/if it happens to them.
I just posted this over on Jez, but I think it’s obliquely relevant. To play the game means having to compartmentalize and act like this, and it’s very troubling.
If that makes you nervous, then this is going to make you sick to your stomach.
OTOH, her career was built on him coercing* actresses to wear her dresses on red carpets, so I’m not losing sleep over this.
I remember that photo shoot. I think it came out in 1999, after she won Best Actress for Shakespeare in Love. I remember thinking what an odd choice it was for her to do that - but I guess it wasn’t her choice at all!

I think it really depends on the piece. It looks really nice with certain stones, maybe not so much with diamonds.
I like it in limited amounts. As an occasional break from white metal? Sure! As an engagement ring and/or wedding band, to be worn everyday? No fucking way.
I’m looking forward to the day people realise how ugly rose gold is.
I don’t really feel bad for her, but I will feel bad for all the people who work for her who will be affected if the line tanks because of all of this.
It is not surprising that Marchesa is taking a hit. As I commented yesterday, the designs are mostly awful and the ones that are decent are still in need of editing.
Apparently Olds all get the same handbook, because despite being childfree I desperately want to scold Lea Michele for jumping on her bed. Getting that much air has to be killing the springs.
There was a Jezebel article a la Onion style a few years back that was something along the line of “I never new women were people until I had a daughter.” I wish I could find it and I really wish they’d repost it every time something like this happens. But also not because it reminds me too much of my dad and makes me…
I know a quite a few others for Ben to apologize to. If you worked with him on a movie in the 2000s, he wasn’t even trying to hide it.
