Except, it’s only women who suffer from having children during this time period. Men can have all the kids they want, because the whole field and process is built around their biological realities and the assumption they have a wifey at home to take care of everything else.

I have a friend whose wife didn’t decide to go to med school until after she found out that they couldn’t have kids. She was already a pharmacist, so it isn’t like she didn’t think she could handle the education. She just didn’t think it would ever be practical to be a physician and a mother.
