I love these "Ask a physicist" -articles, but this definitely would have a been a cool opportunity to go with something like: Can you suft a gravitational wave?" Blog post: "No".

I think Farscape should be mentioned concerning the Fan campaigns. I think they had a pivotal role in bringing the Farscape back, even if it was just for a moment. I'm very grateful for all the hard work people put into those watchfarscape.com etc projects.
If you had a time machine, I guess you wouldn't have to theorize. My guess is that it wasn't a single colony, but I'm no expert.
I think we need to look at the positive sides. Lucas could have made more serious alterations. He could have made Yoda speak first for example.
Yay! You're right, Biku. But she isn't hugging and kissing them. I would be hugging and kissing them.
Yes, I remember that one! I was even prepared for something horrible and I still jumped out of my chair.
Portal movie without GLaDOS or the Companion Cube? That's like.. that's like.. guitar without strings or something.
For science, you monster.
Didn't know I had? Certainly I did! At some point for example, I've been painfully aware of my tailbone (when it was fractured). That was the worst experience of my life. Funnily enough, the other top three are also on this list (having my wisdom tooth removed in five pieces and having my sinuses punctured).
Yes, lets :) Oh, I'm so glad it's autumn again soon, and no more annoying little whiners.
The language doesn't give it away. The second official language in Finland is swedish. They are swedish though, it says so in their profile. I just meant to say, that it *looks* like finnish summer.
I think I've heard of this place.. I even think I've heard their national anthem!
Oh, if only Joss Whedon would have written 100 Science Fiction and Fantasy books, then it wouldn't have been too much of a surprise what the outcome would be like.
They are an important food source both as larvae and as adults, so much so that many species depend upon them. They are also important pollinators (which they actually use for food, the blood is for the offspring).
Probably not, you develop a quite good resistance towards the end of summer in scandinavia. It leaves a red dot, but it hardly itches (except in some annoying places like the instep).
Looks like finnish summer. Remember, it's not for them. It's for the babies.
How about good old Satan? He's always looking for good advocates.
I invoke rule 43!
Forgive Farscape? Are you raving mad? I'd voluntarily erase my memory of Warehouse, Eureka, Caprica and Alphas for a few new seasons of Farscape. That show was awesome. I will also give my memories of Sanctuary, SGU, Being Human and Merlin for a few seasons of Lexx.
It doesn't get more epic than that.
