Rogue One 3/5, BR 2/5, Arrival 2/5.

I disliked this film when I saw it on Saturday. Now, with some time to reflect, I’m really hating it. Who was Snoke? Fuck you, it doesn’t matter. Who’re Rey’s parents? Screw off, it’s irrelevant. Here’s some wacky hijinks at an interstellar casino, suck it up and enjoy that, you dipshit Star Wars fan.

I don’t know if I’d give The Last Jedi a 5/5, but I’d probably give it a 4.5. I’ve always been slightly lukewarm-at-best on the franchise, though, and that may be the highest score I’d give any of them. So, take that as the requisite grain of salt. As for the other films:

I loved R1, haven’t seen BR2049 and I thought Arrival was a boring snooze fest. Where does the magic 8 ball put me in liking the new Star Wars movie?

It’s very trendy to love a Star Wars movie when it first comes out and then destroy it later.

• Rogue One - 1/5
• Blade Runner 2049 - 5/5
• Arrival - 4/5

I liked RO more than TFA!

I really enjoyed Rogue One, but there are definitely some flaws. There’s a Lessons from the Screenplay episode called Rogue One vs. The Force Awakens - The Fault in Our Star Wars, which does a pretty good job of examining the flaws of each film by comparing the protagonists. It’s a fan analysing something he loves,

I don’t understand the R1 hate at all - besides the fact that we didn’t need it. I thought R1 was way better than TFA and it was the gritty story we needed on screen after having so many gritty stories in the EU I’ve been dying to see a live action version of!

Should I be Concerned? Mick LaSalle, the reviewer at the SF Chronicle, writes “As for the rest of the movie, it’s pretty good, not quite in the same league as “The Force Awakens,” but an improvement over “Rogue One.”

It is only slightly less “meh” than the J.J. film.

Please be better than Episode 7, please be better than Episode 7, please be better than Episode 7, please be better than Episode 7. . . . .

Listen, if you don’t like Depp in this movie don’t support it.
But honestly, what happened between him and his ex-wife is their business. If she wanted him in jail she probably should have pursued criminal charges and not settled out of court.
I understand the myriad of reasons not to do so but the fact is, unless he is

I would be interested in that. I thought of doing the same thing. Of course some things they do for TV visuals. Also the write does have some coding background so he got rid of excessive stupidness. He said he knows some of the Linux conversation were dated, but left them in. He also had to put in a bogus IP address

I would really love to see that analysis. Yes, it may not be the exact thing hackers do but hey, it’s better than just pressing a “hack me” button right?

but you can’t deny that it’s more a accurate than the hacking in Scorpion and CSI Cyber.

How strongly do you expect the risks of uncontrolled proliferation of sensitive cyber weapons information in the wake of highly developed cyber-weapon attacks, - like Stuxnet's virtual-kinetic strike - , to limit the application of these more elaborate approaches? This could be overcome by utilizing more conventional

Tad Williams' Otherland series has so much in it, it could easily translate into 4 to 8 seasons.
