I’ve read Battle Royale. They are barely alike. Battle Royale is almost entirely focused on the “game” of the students killing one another. In Hunger Games that is small aspect and it primarily focuses on this struggle of districts vs the capital oppression.

Athletes have much shorter careers (the average NFL career is less than three years), zero job security (one injury could be the end), no skills to make money after their career ends, not to mention degenerative medical…
