I’ve got something like 4 or 5 mom ‘n pops joints in my area, none of which would cost me more than $10 for a plate of pasta that’s nothing short of decadent, and I don’t have to shell out another $5 for meat.

The ones near me are about $1.50; if I add extra meat, cheese, and add cheese sauce, that’s a pretty good taco for less than $4, though it was less than ideal trying to eat it in the truck. :(
