Yeah, I have no clue how Hughes and Deutch were so blindsided by the fact that the audiences didn’t respond to Andie and Duckie getting together in the end. There is nothing about the way the previous scenes were written, shot or acted that would have made that ending work.

Yeah, if you want to make a workable multi-season TV show out of American Gods, you pretty much have to deviate from the source material. There isn’t a strong enough middle to make a season out of on its own.
