I think it's key to tell kids this from an early age. I tell my kids: if someone doesn't want to be your friend, leave them alone. You can make other friends and you don't have to be friends with everyone.

You "kind of cringe"...and you work for Jezebel. Wow. This new regime is so very disappointing. Good regards to Denton on alienating every 27+ yo with a couple of brain cells left.

This is basically why My Best Friend's Wedding is one of my favorite movies. Spoiler: the MC's efforts to win over the groom makes a social mess and doesn't win him over. Sometimes it's better to just suffer and long in polite silence.

You might be taking life a bit too seriously.

no gender or sexual orientation gets out of a rom-com looking good

The only possible issue is the public nature of it. This speech could have been delivered to the kid and his parents.

I see the mom as needing content for her youtube account, mostly. What she could do is contact the boy's parents and let them know that it will ruin their son's future if this continues because you will call the police and get a lawyer and this is what will come up when he is googled.

I think it's a fair comment. Enjoying what you earn is one thing. Using what you earn when there is so much that can be done to actually make the world a better place that cost you relatively little is another. Many wealthy people do donate a lot and do a lot, but what needs to be remembers is the comparative with

There is a sense of excessiveness to it, though.

Not sickened, but more like, "There are better things to spend the money on instead of the "most expensive house in Beverly Hills"", unless he has a family of ten or something like that. I mean, thinking about the real estate taxes alone...

He's basically saying that they earned the money, that's well and good, but flaunting the wealth, like buying a huge house with all the trimmings, is bad.

I'm all for enjoying what you earned. But something I get sickened by the excess of the rich. Just... ugh fuck em.

Show-ers vs grow-ers....

Agree, but the show, overall, feels really uneven. There's a lot of talent in the cast, but it seems obvious the show has yet to find its footing.

Jessica Lange, on the other hand, is able to find that precise balance without looking ridiculous.

She is either laying it on too thick, or the rest of the cast is too subtle. She is a great character, but I feel like she's in a different series than everyone else. Is this a police procedural? Is this a campy superhero melodrama? The writing could be a LOT better.

This lifted Mustang Fastback is the sh!t!!

Why oh why oh why can they not do something like this in Australia, home of Mad Max himself? We even have the Mad Max museum here with some of the original film vehicles in it!

I really want to make a post apocalyptic PT Cruiser. Those things are like cockroaches.

we got an old man yelling at a cloud here watch out!
