The Duramax is close to 900 lbs without the transmission and differential. The VW TDI is less than half that ( before size is even considered).

Not enough stars for you sir (and the responses too).

I get the point that he over-promised, but I don’t think that is unexpected for a vehicle in it’s pre-production (at best) form. A little CYA is nothing new is this business.

I disagree mostly. What would you expect a company to say these days with everyone wanting to file a lawsuit for everything? How you drive your vehicle will greatly impact your observed fuel economy, and they realize this.

I agree with the none of the above part. Give me analog gauges and a tasteful center screen if you want. I like tech, but the “I heard you wanted a screen with your screen” thing needs to stop.

This one too. To me at least.

Yeah, probably right. We might get a new truck or two. Just saying that if those sales did tank these three companies would be toast quickly.

It took GM decades to earn their crappy reputation. Companies like GM and FCA think new shiny stuff will make people forget the rubbish they paid for not that long ago. They are still in the uphill battle to regain consumer trust and confidence. Their stuff IS better by miles, but the quality and reliability “targets”

Thank you for the response. I have wondered about this in general for a few years. Informative video too.

Looks better to me, but still very “Fit” like. I hope it does well.

I wonder if one would use less power if it kept the RPMs down. I know they can rev a ton, but if you could use less power with a traditional transmission it seems to me it could be worth the added cost and weight. I don’t know if it works that way though, but I am sure I will get schooled soon :)

Heck yes, but I doubt it is still around. My Dad had this partly in boxes and decided I needed to work for it (I did). I drove it for about two years before buying an 88 Beretta (kept the Valiant). After moving several times, putting it in storage, and moving back to my home town I had to sell it. Didn’t make enough

I think so. Maybe just the states that do emissions testing.

I have owned an 01 since new. Almost 100k miles with nothing but little stuff to complain about (hvac knobs strip out, Access Cab rear window latches break). I haven’t towed anything, and only hauled up to maybe 500 lbs, but I love mine. I would like something new but when as ask myself “Will what I buy be as good as

Model year 2020 is a little over three years away. Not long at all really.

Somehow I doubt it will happen unless it is some sort of crossover...

Good luck :/ A manual transmission unicorn might be easier

Don’t think they dare change the name of the 911 :) If they do there will be torches and pitchforks galore.

Really like this one from the new Maxima.

They are already the best selling vehicles in the United States. And you can already get them in basic trim, sometimes for under $20k.
