I like it, but is there much difference between this and the “regular” four-door? Is the rear seat in this larger?

I don’t know where “they” get the money for them, but there are a lot of them around.

Many trucks have oddly shaped hard to access storage under their rear seats, but this looks very useful. Makes me wonder why no one has done this before.

I agree. Look hard enough and you can get them for under 20k (basic 1/2 ton regular cab work truck).

TONS of people buy the Superduty Fords here just for personal use, but I do live in Texas. The percentage took a hit when fuel prices went sky-high, but they are making a comeback it seems.

I had never heard of this. Quake was one of my favorites for a long time. +1

I doubt they would design a new dash just for the PPVs. It will be available on higher trim levels for civilian cars eventually.

Almost sprayed my coffee on my keyboard. +1

I agree, and I own a first gen Tundra, but not with that gawd awful bed.

I imagine it would be an issue of cost rather than ability too. I’m sure they “could have”, but that might have eroded profits by .002% per vehicle.

That transmission didn’t exist in 2002 though. Looks like it didn’t get put into a truck or SUV until 2009. Nice transmission though.

Don’t think GM (or their suppliers) made anything over 4 speeds that would work in this application; especially considering the torque.

Unfortunately for FCA they sell so many it has a relatively sizable impact on their corporate MPG average. I agree though, very few vehicles to cross-shop.

5th: The iM seems to be a good competitor to the Fit and Versa Note, but maybe a little too pricey (at least at MSRP). It, along with the FRS are the only vehicles they sell that interest me. I actually like the iM.

That will not happen. This “vehicle” will not meet your definition of a truck, but I think they are cool with that. So am I, and I drive a real truck (Tundra). I think there is a market for this is it doesn’t look too strange, and doesn’t cost too much. If the base price is $30k it will die on the vine. $20k to start

The market is telling these companies that they want nicer trucks, not the other way around. Your suggestion might work for a year or two, but not twenty. People like trucks, and people like nice (well equipped) vehicles; so nice trucks are a no-brainer. They would be foolish to ignore market demand. I don’t want (nor

There was at least one Supercrew 4x4 (V8 I think) under 30k. Probably not a long bed, but I don’t remember seeing that in the original post. I may have missed it. My point is that you can get a decent price on a non-luxury type truck, you just have to look for it and be willing to travel to get it.

New. Cars.com has a few hundred XLTs for under 30k, over a thousand F-150s for under 30k if you include the XL/Base trucks.
