While I don’t enjoy Sarah Sherman’s comedy stylings, I think ‘Comedy is about taking risks’ is a good way to look at it. I don’t enjoy what she does, but I’m glad SNL is taking a risk with adding in her peculiar sensibilities (and hope that they keep doing it, but with a performer whose sensibilities jibe with my own.)

Gonna push back on spices. Most of what you find in your supermarket aisle is pretty old, has been sitting in a warehouse for a while, and just isn’t as potent (i.e flavorful) as what you get from a direct-to-consumer outfit like Penzey’s.

The new Google TV (fka(?) Chromecast) has Roku beat by a country mile. There’s a deal on slickdeals where you pay $89 for the Chromecast and get 6 months of Netflix for free, making it cost about $12 out of pocket if you’re always a Netflix subscriber like I am. We’re switching out all our Rokus - I’m tired of this…

You might want to check and see if Fire TV has HBO Max before you make the switch (spoiler alert: they don’t). I’m not sure how HBO Max still hasn’t made it onto these platforms, but it’s a fair assumption that it’s not solely Roku throwing their weight around.

Well, it’s also worth remembering that if you feel like you’re not getting what you deserve after you’ve put in some time and proven your value, go ASK for it. There’s no harm in it, the worst they can do is say no. But you’d be surprised how often they’ll give some ground, especially if you’re known for doing a great…

That’s great that you got the raise you were entitled to! Did you ask for a raise before looking for a new job? Since it sounds like you didn’t want to leave, asking for raises and bonuses that you feel you deserve is important, especially since you were able to document the extra work you were doing.
