Stomped by Obie status: Confirmed

I was always surprised by AVClub’s lack of recaps, especially with the presence of Howerton, Oswalt and Pell (especially considering the praise she’s received in separate articles).

Exactly. This is just the sort of show that would have been a “core AVClub show” as far as getting regular coverage till the bitter end, ratings or pageviews be damned, back in the real days. There’ve been a disturbingly large number of such shows I’ve seen just glide by with not even a mention, much less coverage,

If only there had been some way to maintain visibility for this show...perhaps some sort of website capable of providing daily...recaps?

I really liked this show. Season 1 had a decent premise but season 2 really got it into a good groove. The show is also shot perfectly. It really captures the dull greyness of Toledo.

Yeah, Durbin seems in such awe of the guy (who knows why??) that he’s willing to keep him around through nearly anything.

Especially since, at least when I was taking AP courses in the 90s, they ended with a test from a national organization that the school itself had no control over.

With this season moving past the revenge of the week to Jack writing a new book, we really got a sense of who the characters around Jack’s world are. The teachers and the students really grew this season, and I’ll be sorry to see them go.

Absolutely.  You pretty much have to accept that these kids don’t actually need to learn Biology to pass AP Bio, and it’s enough for Jack to just give them the A for not talking.

They make it easier to accept that premise due to Oswalt’s bumbling principle character.

The first thing you had to do with AP Bio was just accept the premise. No, no way in the real world Jack keeps that job past day one, of course. Once you’ve accepted this, you can enjoy everything else the show has to offer.

Going to miss this one, watching this followed by B99 was a solid one-two punch on Thursdays.

(Also, there are some pirates, but Carol/Cheryl absolutely blows the shit out of them.)

“I did not Dean Natalie Portman!"

he was a grown ass man BEFORE THE INTERNET

Well, it looks like the “ways” that Moby is used to expressing himself are rather...Bourne Identity Theme Song.

I wanna play! But I don’t know him very well. Did he sing “Piano Man”?

I’ll allow it.

“Last Post.” Oh cry me a fuckin’ river. He’s a grown ass man and he’s like “Shutting down this blog, leaving the internet forever.”

this is like an avclub comment filtered through misidentified napster mp3s.

It looks like Lies are his Weapon Of Choice.....
