The Russians operate their on Global Navigational satellites. It’s called GLOSNASS I belive.
Russia has their own, called GLONASS.
Why use that when you can spend 800x as much and be 0.005 % more effective!
I think you are paranoid. I mean Special Forces are in danger frequently, and they only die in training accidents and helicopter crashes......
Holes appearing where there should not be holes is a mechanical issue.
I don’t know of course but I think he’s a convenient prop that has to watch his step. One wrong move and he’ll get the Russian Flu (bumped off).
Comfort and perception = subjective and not based on measurable reality, and I get that, but don’t care, the phobia is unrealistic.
Guess which can apply thrust quicker in an emergency situation particularly during landing, versus coasting along, waiting for the power to arrive.
“certifying my phobia”
Wow, i can certainly see a lot of homerism/fanboysm in the comments of this article.
I’m curious why you think propellers are somehow “sketchier” than a stack of fans with an incinerator in the middle.
Boeing should use all that fancy composite knowledge learned from 787 and 777X to make a C-17 “Superleggera,” or preferable a new C-17-ish design. Extend range, increase capacity, last longer. Beat Lockheed to the punch because fuck giving those bastards more money <insert F-35 boondoggle reference here>.
Shrouded vs unshrouded fans, it’s still a jet. Most of the thrust in modern airliners comes from the cold bypass air...basically a prop.
Fcuk, what a tragedy. RIP to the 4 who never made it out & best wishes to the 2 who did.
Oh man that was so awful and I can’t stop laughing.
God dammit, why did I laugh?
The planes in Spain fall mainly on the plain.
