I’m biased as a big FFXIV fan, so I have full faith in Yoshi-P. I’m very excited for this and I think it will turn out interesting no matter what. (I also defend XV, but that’s another story)

As an American, I’m still trying to wrap my brain around the idea that a city actually took time to build spaces for pedestrians and cyclists instead of just saying “fuck you, get a car”
I’m looking at a chart of Gacha game $$$ for the first 6 months of 2020, and 24 Million would put it solidly at rank 17, beating out Azur Lane, SINoAlice, Shadowverse etc etc....and again those are revenue figures for 6 months.
They're going to HAVE TO if they expect to do all those places with the care they treated Midgar. They turned a 30 min Wall Market quest into like 5 hours. Was it cool? Sure. But if this is the standard they're setting, following through with this on the rest of the game is going to be so huge in dont see how they…
They turned like, three screens of train tracks into an almost 2 hour long dungeon...Junon had better be more than a gas station pit stop.
Two more games?
Kalm Flashback > Mythril Mine > Junon > Cargo Ship > Mt Corel > Gold Saucer > Corel Prison > Cosmo Canyon > Nibelheim > Nibelheim Mountains > Rocket Town > All of Wutai > Temple of the Ancients > City of the Ancients > Snow Field > Great Glacier > Crater > Junon Escape > Hunt for Huge Materia >…
So they got two games to go from Midgar to Crater/Final Fight while maintaining the level of focus they showed in the first part (by spending 40 hours in a 4 hour zone)
Not buyin’ it. They’re taking a chainsaw to the roadmap. Well...moreso than they already did with the Time Janitor Dementors.
I was legit getting this title confused with the also recently anounced clockwork souls-like 'Lies of P' I think its called.
Open World game kind of suffer from the “here is some beautiful scenery for miles in every direction...with absolutely *nothin’* fuckin’ going on in them” problem. For some people that’s cool and part of the immersion. Red Dead Redemption 2 is pretty to look at but there’s *jack shit* happening across most of the map.…
Bro, if you think Kotaku curbs it’s reporting to remain favorable to publishers then you *literally* haven’t been paying attention for the last 10 years...
Turns out “vote with your wallet” ain’t the rousing battlecry people thought it was, eh?
These people like to pretend this wasn’t the inevitable and incredibly predictable conclusion of these monetization policies. the rage they have now was what they SHOULD have had a decade ago but wrote it off as not their problem.
Now it’s here and their problem. Damn. Whomsd’nt’ve among us could possibly have seen…
When talking about that number of planets there a no way you get that without some form of proc gen tech. And people really don’t seem to understand the limits of that tech, or at least pretend not to.
But did they narrow Joel’s shoulders? Did they make him look soft?
I approve.
This game is going to make more profits than D3 and D2 combined. It’s *exactly* what they set out to make performing *exactly* the way it was intended.
Studio Trigger?
So...it’ll be revealed that Aliens were the real CyberPunkers all along by the end then?
A journalist reported on factually accurate information and then refused to take it down when the rich subject said they didn’t like it?
I agree with you that loot boxes and gambling mechanics are exploitative, and I also believe there are no “degrees” or “levels” of this exploitation, there’s no version of exploitation that isnt “not that bad”. It’s all or nothing.
“Paid by blizzard” what is this, gaming magazines in the 90s again?
