I haven’t played Warzone, but it sounds like Activision tried to make it the MCU-like shared universe lynchpin tying all the different CoD permutations together and it broke the game. Can’t imagine being one of the devs working on this, yet needing to integrate shit from other CoD games made by different developers.

The weirdest thing is that this might be the first time we’ve seen someone read or write anything in Star Wars.

It didn’t help that the vespas all share the same design and have the gaudy sparkling aesthetics of a 50's diner barstool.

Yeah, even the older DS and 3DS games had some weird performance hiccups. Nothing big enough to impact enjoyment of the games, but it’s pretty clear they really struggle on the engineering side of things and seem to have little no incentive to improve competency.

Yeah, this would maybe be excusable if this were Gamefreak’s first game on the Switch, and if the hardware were still new to them.

This isn’t even their first Switch game, so they can’t even use the excuse of having to work with new hardware.

I mean this isn’t even their first Switch release. They’ve been releasing games on the Switch since 2018.

Love the little detail of two Grunts being seated in the backseats.

I’m 90% sure that BTB was only added in after the delay. The 4v4 maps are all unique and had concept art shown off as early as 2020. But the BTB maps all just use assets taken from the campaign, which suggests they were developed late in production.

DICE always seems to forget the lessons it learned from previous games with each new release.

I don’t know if they even own the rights to Oni considering it was originally published by Take Two.

I’m not sure we’re ever going to get a Destiny 3. I think Bungie learned a hard lesson when they transitioned to Destiny 2 and tossed aside a bunch of content.

That was my first thought as well, but Bungie’s own FAQ page on the acquisition said that their future games will be multiplatform as well.

Well the lore does mention that a lot of the Spartans are somewhat aloof and not very sociable. But their loyalty and trustworthiness is never questioned.

I don’t really understand why studios keep trying to adapt videogame franchises but decide to completely change up the story and characters.

It’s a combination of the market not being ready for it due to broadband access, and Sony being unwilling to commit to it due to the general lack of interest in streaming (again, largely due to lack of access of high speed broadband).

It’s like when people convinced themselves that some random indie studio was secretly Kojima.

I know how you feel. Even though it’s been well over a decade since I stopped playing, I’ll occasionally come across videos of people playing the modern ruleset and it’s all so confusing.

Are the boosters even necessary at this point? The battle passes don’t expire and it’s not like it’s hard to earn XP anymore.

I think we’ll continue to see annualized CoD’s for at least the next few years. The CoD support studios are likely already working on stuff at the moment.
