Well at the end of the movie he has a conversation with Wonder Woman that they have to find other metahumans to stop an invasion. That's why the last third was in the film where they put aside their differences and fought together against a common enemy.

If you watch the movie, not everyone hated Superman. It was clear that some did and some didn't, that's why some had signs praising him and some not in the Senate protest scene, or why you had some pundits on the TV praising him and some not, or why they showed people watching the TV or going to his funeral and being…

Yeah, I'm not sure why he's even chiming in. He's not responsible for firing him, right? No one has accused him of anything. So instead this is just a guy telling some other guy he deserved to be fired in open letter format.
