It really is. There are so many times I have had friends in friend groups bitch about how ‘women are untrustworthy’, ‘women are sluts’, etc. etc. because someone got cheated on, or someone got two-timed or whatever. Because this one girl did something bad, animosity against all women was rational and justified.

This is one aspect of cop shows I never understood, even as a naive youngster with no understanding of the complexities of justice and law enforcement in an inherently unfair society.

Just like ‘innocent until found guilty’ is shouted from the rooftops when it’s a guy accused of sexual misconduct or rape, but the same grace is never offered to black men, women or children accosted by cops at gunpoint.
