Beats Ford, who only puts safety equipment in the corner of the car tested by the NHTSA leaving everyone else to die...
I never understood how Ford even survived that, most people never seemed to care.

I like it in theory... My last vette was a C5, and I had the z06 which had no targa, just the fixed roof.
The only problem I had with the targas in the vette was that you had to UNBOLT THEM. thats a serious pain in the neck. They were great with the roof on or off, but the transition was a huge pain in the neck.
I used…
Maybe its a personal thing.
On a hard top, as long as your helmet clears the hard top your good to go.
On a convertible, your helmet has to pass the broomstick test (IE it can’t cross the plane between the windshield top and the rollbar top)
On something like a miata or 911, that puts any driver over 6'2" out of…
But then its hot enough that you REALLY want functioning AC. and some decent insulation.. haha.
I don’t think I could enjoy a convertible any further south than tennessee.
Here I fixed it for you:
I like the targa. Its well done.
I also like the hardtop for the 911 convertible. I think more OEMs should do it like that... 996 even included both from the factory, but I think today its an add on. Its really affordable though. Its only $3000 for the hard top to put onto the carrera. Thats cheaper than a lot of…
I still think 21st century would mean... hard tops. I still feel like cloth tops are a step backwards.... but I guess I’m wrong. Theres a lot of soft top supporters on here, so make the soft top. I just won’t buy it! Maybe I need to stay a mercedes guy.
holy old thread revival! :)
I’ve got a six-figure car with a soft top and I can’t say I agree :)
Ever soft top I’ve owned wore out within 10 years, hates having 3' of snow piled up on it, and creates wind noise and temperature variations at really cold weather.
But I have to respect the no compromises.
I really like the way the Porsche 911 did it.…
Its a roadster... not a sports car.
Roadsters are for DDing, driving to church, and enjoying the weather. If you want performance, buy a sports car. Comfort and enjoyment > Performance = Roadster.
Soft Top? Seriously? its 2019 and a BMW is coming out with a SOFT TOP?
Thats the deal breaker right there. Soft tops mean miserable driving in winter and with the top up.
After having a hard-top SLK, I’d never want to go back to a soft top on a Roadster. I get it on budget minded cheap cars like a miata. Price is king,…
I think DCTs are a better driving experience than a manual. I love sticks, but as long as it has a manually operated DCT or automated manual, I’m a happy camper.
But I’m not a potential buyer no matter what.
At least until its about 10 years old then MAYBE... IF it has Toyota reliability ;)
That I know, but what are the rules of being BEHIND an emergency vehicle.
I actually live near a hospital, so this happens all the time. The Ambulances are capped at I believe 55 MPH while traffic moves at 75 MPH . So they may be going 10 miles at 55 MPH. You pull over to let them by, and they ride normally in the 2nd…
I never knew what to do when following an emergency vehicle. If I go 70 on the highway and they go 55, what do I do? I assume I leave a couple of car lengths and go the same speed?
I know I shouldn’t pass them, right? I don’t even remember learning about it..
That would have been brilliant. They could have just come out with the original mario kart but with new characters.
cheaper and better.
And normally they explicitly state “sponsored content” on the image. This one doesn’t. Still have to assume it clearly IS sponsored content, or he getts commish on you clicking the links. Then it isn’t sponsored content but sort of is.
But the author explicitly stated he didn’t think the gash-shocked pop up style tonneau cover existed before 2003, and kyle bridges was clarifying that it was. I don’t think this was in reference to what this is selling.
I don’t disagree with the article... but for 99% of users in 99% of situations, a standard roll up is still better.
But be careful!
I made the mistake of buying a CHEAP roll up tonneau on my newest truck. The thing requires you to install support beams across the bed instead of being part of the tonneau itself. That means to roll it up it takes 5 minutes and I have to jump into the bed... then find a place to put those stupid…
I second your motion.
