We list on craigslist, but we tell people they have to come ON SITE to apply. No phone call or email job submissions!

I show up with cash.

I also show up with myself and someone else armed to the teeth... haha.

So much this.

I find it odd because I’m the exact opposite. I would never look at a vehicle before haggling price.... and I’ve bought three cars in 2018, and over 50 in the last 12 years. I’m not going to waste my time looking at a car if we can’t even agree on a price....

Thats true on the Ferrari I bought from Florida, and the

I think the seller is a little rude.

I’m guessing the person doesn’t have 14 grand and is bitter about it though too...

I think 12 grand is a reasonable first offer though, so I don’t understand what was up with the semi-rude response, both because its a reasonable first offer AND telling someone “normal people don’t

I agree, but I don’t see them being that now. What they are and what they want to be are very different.

I want to be a billionaire, but that doesn’t mean I can buy a 2 million dollar hotel.

Yes, because I don’t think tesla has production like other manufacturers do... every one is made to order in a low volume job shop... More like a McLaren than a Ford.

Custom furniture they almost always charge you about 50% upon ordering and 50% upon delivery.

Custom made sinks also charge you 50% at order + 50% at delivery.

Custom Suits often charge you 75% when you order!

Custom shoes charge you 100% before they will even make them (Converse.com for example... I’ve bought a lot of

Valid.

Try custom ordering a Kia or Hyundai... or heck even a Chevy... haha. The alottment thing is frustrating. I wanted a Chevy SS. I wanted a manual transmission in green. No one could order it. When I got my camaro, I went to order it and they pretty much said “we’ll give you the loaded 2SS for the same price as

so tell me what you think about the deposits on the elio...

I wish that was true. I’ve tried to custom order a car so many times and its always MSRP + added dealer customization charge + “we don’t even know if we’ll be able to get it” BS.

I dream of a world where I can go into the dealer, custom order what I want, and get it in 4-8 weeks.

I thought they were all custom ordered to the specs of the end consumer? And they hold no inventory, as each product is only made to order?

Like if I go to subway, my order is “made to order”, even though its pretty standard ingredients. If I chose not to buy my sandwich, they’d have to expend significant resources to

It is- Its been the same since the model S... part of the original contract... and nothing new based on my understanding.

I would agree with you if they just all of a sudden added it after the fact.

I would expect for a fully custom-built new f150 to get charged $5000 when I put the order in, $25,000 when they start building, and the rest at delivery. Makes sense to me. I know BMW charges a non-refundable for custom color choices.

If they have to self-insure themselves for people backing out of weird combos no one

I think its totally reasonable. $1000 to get in line. Now its time to start building it?

When I have a building built, I put a 2000 deposit down, then right before construction I pay up 10%. Then I pay 25% when its partially built, 50% or so when its half built, 75% when its finished, and 100% when its ready for

My first thought was, “Oh a black sedan- You are never going to identify someone in a black sedan”.

Then I realized “oh wait! Its 2018! No one drives sedans.

Then I realized “Oh its Florida! Even less people drive sedans!”

So there’s got to be a couple 17+ Fusion hybrid in pasco county. The population is 465k people, and

It depends on the use case. Sure, if you want ONE car thats going to be your DD and fun car, the 6150 makes a lot of sense... but What the hell am I going to do with a big old V6? I have 9 cars. I have race cars, weekend cars, and fun cars. The 4cyl premium is a great DD car, you know for sitting in traffic and riding

Definitely... Rarely ever a positive ROI on modifications unless its fixing something thats broken- OR- fixing a fundamental flaw... such as the IMS bearing on the Porsche 911...

Unless its a real low end car.

For example, a 3800 Sc Fiero will almost always command more than a stock fiero.

In general I say this logic starts falling apart in the $2500 range.

$15,000 is almost a 50% increase in price. I don’t know if that is “looking at things closely”. I look at all the numbers closely for everything I do, and everything is a cost-benefit analysis. What would I be willing to accept?

The Sonata 2.0t Limited was $35k in 2015.
The Stinger 2.0t Premium is 37k in 2018.
