Because they won't sell it here. It's a 'premium' thing. In the US hatches = cheap economy cars. I don't know why that's the mindset, but it largely is. Wether it's sales dictating what we get for the US lineup, or it's marketing pushing what they THINK is going to push more cars is anyones guess. (Because lets be

I think mostly it's: "lets create a 'real audi' that we can advertise as 'under $30k'".

With a stick and quattro? AWYISS

If I could get this as an S3 with a stick and quattro for under 50k...... that would be very convincing.

The reason that "millennials" aren't buying cars is because the used car market is completely insane. I got a 2003 Ford Focus ZX3 with 50k miles in 2009 for $3000. According to autotrader, which has 2 million listings, across the whole US there are about 2000 cars with less than 100k miles and are $3000 or under.

Still, I don't think it's currently for sale, but a bit more recent:

This is missing deep sea blue!

Don't forget the i series cars!

Absolutely beautiful.

220i will probably do it.

Yeah, the 911 actually has done a very good job of not ballooning up...

Also for fun:

I was driving at night and didn't see these people jay walking right in front of my car until the last second. I swerved around them and one of my passengers gave me shit for doing that rather than slamming on the brakes saying I was an aggressive driver.

Yeah, however with RWD and decent power, understeer is any easy thing to fix! ;)

I'm excited for the 235i, if it drops down as much as the 135i has I could definitely see picking one up with a MT. I'm just concerned it might have model bloat since the original 1 series...

Yeah, gas here has recently dropped about 10-15 cents as well.... strange....

Amazing. I think the 1-series was created specifically to fill the old 3-series spot.

I agree, who is buying a drivers car limo..... I'd go with the S-class because it's clearly a better car to be driven in. It just seems insane that those cars are getting larger and larger.

Look at the A3 or the older TT, they're both just "tarted up" golfs. However unlike Aston with the IQ, the point was to build a car that sold. Which is why they looked different on the outside and in, had different engine options, nice trim/options, and didn't cost 3-4 times more.

This one is also a pretty good illustration of old vs new.
