Actually it's not a no duh. Read some of the comments here.... some people seem pretty offended that some one is even CONSIDERING electric cars are BAD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT WUT?!

Pretty much. No one listened to that one either. :P

Even if you fix the grid, you still have batteries/large electric motors which require toxic rare earth metals/minerals which are expensive to mine and produce other environmental risks. This and a couple other things is the authors main argument.

Are they really better for the environment though? I mean that seems to be the entire discussion and why these articles are written.

You know what's worse than people who are to immature to go ahead an pull their heads out of their asses long enough to hear and understand what other peple say/type to them?

I have a friends dad who bought a practically fully loaded 535GT, white, brown interior.... I have to admit it is comfortable and did okay in the snow. But seriously the trunk is way smaller than it should be in such a large car.

After having driving an 8-speed tiptronic A4 and a CVT model... I disagree.

Right now you can pick up RX8's really cheap. I got a 2005 with under 20k miles about 2 years ago for $15k, just about factory fresh. (Always garaged, plus the previous owner had added koni yellows).

Every time I open up the rear doors on my RX8 to let a new person in, they're like "what, those are doors?".

:D Sure thing! Thank god this isn't gizmodo.

As far as I understand, there will be facebook in the multimedia interface. Really... I don't want any social media in my car. But if you're going to do it, facebook is a pretty safe bet. Can I also point out this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_m…

People keep saying that.... however facebook has broken 1 billion users and is still growing at an absurd rate....

For that price, right now, I'd buy a lightly used 135i.

I meant just the stock setup. Of which I'm not a fan.

Yes, I'm completely aware. You also realize that 1 ATM is ~15psi? So a turbo doing 15lbs of boost is ALSO doing double the "volume" of air.... and the A45 does 26 lbs of boost?

I had a friend with a GT500, and really I thought the noise it made was kind of bland. Another friend had a 5.0 with a magnaflow exhaust, which I thought sounded better, but idk. Maybe I just never heard them getting wrung out enough.

Nope, it has nickel metal hydride batteries, which are more toxic than Li-ion, and require a lot of nickel mining(which tends to be pretty bad for the environment).

If only it had the amount of history and development that the piston engine has had.... :(

Technically in a single rotation each rotary housing does 3 detonations(one for each side), while a 4-stroke cylinder does one for every 2 rotations of the crankshaft.

I thought it was a big improvement over the current 5.0 personally.
