Yeah, but it is a pre-recorded sound which changes based off rpm and all that, not your actual engine..... I remember on a top gear episode there was some Ausie car that actually piped exhaust noise into the cabin.

1) Yes.

+1, old british roadster owners are definitely crazy. You'd have to be a masochist to go through all the ups and downs of old british car ownership and stick with it. Massive respect.

+1, this was going to be my submission. Namely the truck crown. I don't think anyone else has such brand loyalty and hatred towards competitors.

Don't you be talkin' smack on the magic wobbly triangles!

I like the idea of having more options, however in apple fashion there is something to say for just making ONE version and making it as good as possible.

If you check the car and driver review[linked], they put down a 3.7 0-60 in the F10 M5. However interestingly, their rolling start, 5-60 was 4.6. Tesla reports the Model S "Signature performance" model at 4.4 0-60.

This re-reply increased my faith in humanity by at least 3. +1 to you.

Oh, also, there's an M drivers package that raises the top speed to 190mph.

As kingen already said, seeing as how the model above is called the "Signature Performance", I'd say it's supposed to be a performance car. The entry level model however is 50k and supposed to do 0-60 in 6.5 seconds.

Also I'm pretty sure they packed all the batteries on the floor, so it has an amazing low center of gravity.

The Model S tops out at 130. Like most electric cars it's a fixed single speed "transmission". The M5, like most german saloons, is limited to 155. So even without removing the limiter you're going to be "faster" than a model S.

Is the Tesla model S faster? Absolutely not. The fastest it can go is 130 mph. The M5 on the other hand can go 155mph.

Seeing how the M5 is playing motor sounds on the stereo to match the revs..... that shouldn't be a problem.

I would make the same judgement. You don't get in a car with a stranger, everyone learned this in second grade and it still applies. Gender/Sex is irrelevant.

I agree this is good common sense, I also agree with a couple people saying the sex/gender of the person walking and the people in the car shouldn't matter. Male or Female it's probably safe to not get in the car with a group of strangers.

+1.

Even if you were to assume the diesel was 100% more efficient, and fuel cost exactly the same..... 25k miles of diesel = ~2700, double that for gas to get 5400, you have a savings of 2700. That's still less than half the extra cash ponied up for the TDI, and that's taking some MASSIVE liberties with the numbers.

Okay so let me do the math.... according to fuelly the 2012 H5 2.5 golf did 28.0 mpg. (That's on 87 octane) based on 15 cars, 330 fuel ups, and 107k miles.

Do you guys do a lot of long distance driving? I mean if you're putting 40k freeway miles a year on it, it might make more sense.... I drive probably 12k/year, 20-30% freeway, 30-40% city, and 30-50% is all stop and go on the freeway. Plus diesel where I live is usually more expensive than 91.
