Watching the trailer, all I could think was “but why?”

This was heavily predicted going into this week. Carlsen is the world’s best Speed/Blitz player, and he’s learned to play tournaments with an eye to drawing every match until the tiebreak kicks in.

They only had all that because the machines let them. At the end of each of the five previous system resets with the earlier Ones, all bar 7 men and 16 women were killed and the humans then had to rebuild and repopulate from scratch only for the machines to inevitably repeat the cycle. The Architect said so.

That is sort of my thinking looking at this tech. Would it help me drive more relaxed to and from work? I highly doubt it. It is more like being extra alert as a beta tester of a software that could potentially cause an expensive accident. Would it help me driving more relaxed on long highway drives? Possibly, but

Raph needs to get off the road with this thing. He’s a danger to himself and others riding it. I don’t want to be at the top of an intersection in Brooklyn when he comes steaming through, unable to stop, and slams into me.

I mean, hey - more power to you if you want to careen off a cliff or into cross traffic because your brakes don’t work, I just don’t want to be anywhere near you when that happens. Just like driving a car that’s not maintained properly, a bike that doesn’t work as it should is a danger to others as well.

You know what brakes are the coolest brakes in the world? The ones that stop you from dying because they actually function as modern brakes.

So they work basically like cantilever brakes or u brakes, which is to say worse than linear pull brakes, but are also a pain in the ass to keep calibrated? Sounds like Jalopnik.

Still not really that interested in an artist re-recording their old songs to make more money.

Alien is one of my favorite movies, and Aliens isn’t far behind. The reason Resurrection sucks (well, one of them) is because they decided that this scrappy survivor, whose whole thing is being outmatched by impossible odds but who claws her way to victory with her intelligence and courage instead of unusual powers or

John Waters?

... did the rest of the cast appreciate getting the second hand smoke from this? Movie sets are workplaces, not sure what the rules are in New Zealand but in most areas it’s kind of illegal to smoke in a workplace.

Hard to think of something that is a bigger problem to them than just being a Tesla driver.

100% agree. People remember John Lithgow and the season finale, but they forget the unbelievable amount of highly skippable content in between. I had friends who would literally just fast-forward when Batista was on-screen during that season, because nothing he said or did had any connection to the serial killer plot.

Yes, we get it — dedicated snow tires are better in winter driving conditions. No one disputes this. But they are overkill or even entirely unnecessary in large parts of the US.

Really the myth is that all seasons aren’t fine in the winter. For all but like, 5% of the country, they are. All season in 2021 are totally different than the ones that weren’t sufficient in the cold 30 years ago.

Experiencing this guy’s films has been a real revelation over the last few years. He is the real deal, and I’m shocked he hasn’t gone megawatt and offered big prestige gigs. In a way, I am grateful, because he is like a secret pleasure I get to enjoy all on my own. On the other hand, I’m outraged that he isn’t being

This article really reads like someone who never had to purchase a used car before/is kind of entitled.

Seriously, dude doesn’t inspect the first car and blames them when he finds damage, and Carvana goes above and beyond and agrees to fix/replace (for all they knew he could have damaged it himself after he bought it).

If he did this with a private seller or about 95% of used car dealers wouldn’t he have been SOL?
