Waters in on record as saying that he has no interest in making a movie on a microbudget as he spent the first two decades of his career making movies with basically no budget and would rather just focus on other projects than go back to that.

That’s cool, I’m kind of envious tbh; I can’t get excited about something just because someone else was passionate about making it. I’ve met people passionate about grammar rules and tax law but I sure as shit can’t get excited about books they’ve written on the subject.
Yes I was going to point this out; the reason Carlsen is in support of changing the time limits is because he’s also the reigning champion at Speed/Blitz so such a change would likely be a huge benefit for him.
I value Coen’s original work so highly I’d much rather he spend his time and energy giving us more of that than yet another version of MacBeth.
I’m sure this is well made because it’s Spielberg doing something he’s passionate about but I can’t imagine a less interesting project than a remake of West Side Story. Hopefully whoever the target audience is enjoys it, but I’ll definitely pass.
Hey this is about me! I live in Victoria and the only highway connecting my city to the fuel depots was washed out meaning we had severe gas shortages (ie., most stations out of gas and massive lineups at those that weren’t) for about a week. We’re still under gas restrictions of 30L at a time but otherwise things are…
In a movie packed with religious symbolism that basically hits you over the head with the neo-as-christ narrative I think you have to accept some miracles.
If you don’t even consider the original matrix a good film you should probably just skip this one tbh.
>but things were clearly a lot worse for humanity
Did you even read the judgment I linked? I get that Cosby going free is an abhorrent outcome but you seem to be arguing that the appeal judges made an obvious error based on your extremely cursory analysis of the wording of the press release that conveniently ignores all of the other available evidence. I don’t…
>he DA didn’t promise never to file charges, he said that he wasn’t filing charges now because of the current lack of sufficient evidence.
It was a baffling decision by Denver to give him that five-year max before the season. They have Joker and Murray locked up long-term, there was no need to yolo max their third option, especially when he’s a dude with an incredibly alarming medical history. Dude would have been RFA at the end of the season, they…
It’ll be interesting to see what happens. When AD was still on the Pelicans and they were refusing to play him (so they could mega-tank for Zion) the league stepped in and forced the team to give him minutes. I guess that’s where the whole bench vs. starter argument comes in - Houston can plausibly argue that it’s…
I just mash them with a balloon whisk; try that next time, it’s gotta be way faster than using a fork.
The entire point of paying this much money is for an immersive experience and it kind of ruins the immersion if the lightsaber is revealed to be a fragile prop that falls apart the second someone who’s not an experienced actor holds it.
“Staples Center” is one of those arena names that’s become kind of iconic, at least within the NBA. The Lakers have won like six championships there so for that fanbase the name has become special because the team has had so much success there. It’s not as iconic as Madison Square Garden but it’s up there for sure.
I commute year round in the pacific northwest - we had a historic rainfall earlier this week that I rode to work in - and you couldn’t pay me to ride something that doesn’t have disc brakes. I get the appeal of old bikes but modern technology is just so much safer that it feels negligent to ride anything else.
> I’ve managed to get the spring tension even on the front brakes so that they work consistently, but I haven’t been able to get them to give good power.
Plenty of artists own their own music; it’s never been easier to be a successful artist outside of the major label system. Look at someone like Billie Eilish who managed to become a massive pop-star with only minimal record label support.
If we list all the movies where the leading actor got paid significantly more than a supporting actor we’ll be here all day.
