The PS3 that the vast majority of people owned had no backwards compatibility, and worse, its games can’t be backwards compatible going forward. My comparison is as simple as that. But hey, the fact that your model cost twice as much as mine is a big factor too.

for sure it’s no doubt a great step toward greater adoption! I want it myself. I just say this in observation of how regular non-niche type of folks get into new tech - it’s still way too expensive and difficult for the average person to get into VR

PS VR2 won’t be backwards compatible with the old headset’s library of games

It’s totally nostalgia for loads of people for whom it was their first FPS game. Coming from pc at the time, I thought it was ok, had shitty controls, and ran bad but couldn’t deny the fun of 4 player split screen, which I couldn’t do on pc.

Nah you’re missing the point. I played it that way because it felt intended and was the easiest route that also lined up with the narrative given. quit reaching lol

I was honestly surprised and deeply disappointed rear paddles didn’t become standard this new console generation.

I played it literally at launch using stealth, stun gun, and hacking and never killed a single person and it was very easy to accomplish. I never had to “dig” for anything. It was clearly the way the game wanted me to play it, especially since my actions lined up perfectly with the narrative presented.

No it doesn’t. I literally never shot a single person in WD2 and it was awesome and not very difficult. Clearly intended.

good thing most people’s racist grandparents aren’t billionaires with legions of followers whose every fucking word is unfortunately influential in the real world, you moron.

It’s also hard not to see parallels between the stated non-judginess of the game and the larger controversy surrounding Hogwarts Legacy’s connection to transphobic author J.K. Rowling. Like many others crying wolf about cancel culture, she embodies the contradiction of someone who wants to promote shitty views while

I’ve been a Spiderman fan since I was a kid reading Amazing and I still always type it Spiderman because it’s easier to type

For what it’s worth, I think we still haven’t gotten a GREAT video game adaptation. But we’ve certainly got some decent ones in recent years - Detective Pikachu might be my pick simply because it doesn’t try to ape any specific game and just sticks to telling its story.

Capitalism gonna capitalism.

If that number is accurate (no way to tell!) I am very surprised! Elden Ring just.. looks much cheaper with regards to things like texture work, motion capture, heck even the cost of actors would be minimal in comparison. I’d love to read an actual breakdown on development/marketing costs but it looks like the best we

Honestly I kick myself for coming back here still despite there being maybe a crumb or two of decent content per week. seems like all the good gaming sites I used to regularly read are crumbling though. got any favorites?

Yep. if  a character in the game did this, our author would be pointing out how much the trope hurt his feelings or some shit lol

The article was edited after I made this comment, dumbfuck

I mean, you wrote an article with a provocative title about a beloved game and then get the most basic of facts wrong in the intro - you’re gonna fake martyr yourself when people point out the mistake? This is what my five year old does when someone catches him being naughty lol

Plus, I’m just gonna take a wild guess, the budget for Elden Ring was a tiny fraction of CoD. A fraction of a fraction lol

God this is atrocious “criticism” of the type where simply identification of a trope somehow equals bad storytelling. Did the writer get his education about film from cinemasins? And why start off an article about a game by admitting you don’t even know when it was released and didn’t have enough initiative to simply
