replace that phrase with “gameplay loop” - all games have this. To me, the Soulsborne games focus foremost on making that gameplay loop satisfying, more than they focus on story, graphics etc. and that’s what I love about them. And full disclosure: I suck at these games! but the fun is indeed in the challenge. Of

I wish I’d seen this reply before leaving my own! Well said. I think Miyazaki says it best right here:

Imagine talking this way about any other art form. “Obtuse, artsy movies should have musical numbers and winky jokes like marvel movies so more people would like them!” “avant garde music should actually be full of pleasant melodies so that top 40 radio listeners can enjoy them too!”

As far as I’m aware, Uncharted 4 does star Nathan Drake. but maybe my memory is faulty. This one is fantastic, though.

this is like peak Gamer Criticism. extremely narrow and shallow, blowing things out of proportion. perfect lol

Why do we need them? What benefit does it have putting these systems into our games? Who is using these things? It feels like a very small audience. And also, these technologies are still not using sustainable energy and are a target for money laundering. As a developer I feel deeply uncomfortable that there is a

Welp, as a Sony console owner, I’m just glad I don’t play a single activision/blizzard game. Like, I can’t think of a single one made in the last five+ years I’ve played. Zero interest in the kind of crap they churn out.

I actually have that and H:I thanks to gamepass on my pc! it’s the way I started with Halo 1 (I did play some co-op 20 years ago on a friend’s xbox but that’s it) but I was struggling with some random difficulty spikes and then the new one game out so I gave that a whirl and got hooked on the gameplay. I do want to

It was my first Halo game (aside some of the first game which I tried to play a couple months ago and wasn’t enjoying that much) and that checks out - gameplay was awesome, but I couldn’t tell you much about the story, and I was even trying to pay attention! probably not best to jump into the 6th in a series lol

I was making fun of people for thinking an opinion could be wrong but ok

The best part was the avalanche of nerds trying to “actually you’re WRONG” him in the replies.

wish I could do vertical! but mine’s tucked safely into a media tower away from my 4yo’s wild hands lol

Welp, this just convinced me to give STALKER another try. The film is perhaps my favorite of all time (and it is NOT just visual poety - it’s one of the most chatty films ever made, and the philosophical debate filled dialogue is central to the experience - but indeed it is absolutely beautiful) and the games seemed

oh it’s definitely the drive, and it worries me how loud it sounds - I’ve never heard a drive make that much buzz. I hope it’s just the shitty design of the plastic body and not the drive coming loose in there!

I’m still unsure whether this first model is good or bad - mine sounds like a jet engine any time any disc is played whether it’s a game or movie, for the first five minutes. Just super loud vibrating and.. yep. Never had that on my 3 or 4.

hah, I grappled above some doors but never managed to find a cheese, but I do try to avoid that usually lol

“2018" link to a feb 2015 article lol

This was easily the worst part of the entire game, unnecessarily frustrating bullshit. I ended up just running and grappling in a loop around those two ramps for like ten straight minutes picking away at him on the 20th try, so annoying.

Insane to say that sacrificing your save file is the “wrong” move in Nier. Insane.

ah, I gotcha. it’s definitely very desolate out there. honestly that aspect most reminds me of Shadow of the Colossus, and the puzzles are very team ico-ish. I’m about 8 hours in, and maybe the world should be smaller, but I feel like a faster glider will really help, if I can afford one lol
