I had an 83 as well... and an 84 Dodge Omni. Both had German engines and were American made and both made 300k in miles. The Golf is still on the road (afaik) and is/was coming up on 400k. While i didn’t buy either new, neither were more prolematic for a car of that age doing the mileage i was doing. Next time look…
