I read that one reason Brando was so miserable on set was that the day production started the French set off an underwater atomic bomb near an atoll he owned near Tahiti.

My theory is the stroke he had was secretly his second lifetime kicking in.
I think it’s hilarious that outtakes from a spin-off prequel movie are more “canon” than an official tie-in novel written by the co-creator. seriously, that book has virtually nothing to do with the recent show. even agt. preston is the same character in name only.
“This game is exactly like every fps I’ve played in the last five years. Also it froze, crashed my computer, killed my dog, and slept with my wife. 9/10"
Hell, Bethesda games get Game of the Year awards despite being buggy retreads running a 15 year old engine that shit right from the start.
That’s because games critics are lazy hacks. Games can be unplayable on day 1 and still average a 90 on metacritic.
I don’t know why, but that GIF of Mario pounding a platform down and creating staircases looks really cool. Another tiny grain of sand on the scale that will eventually tip and make me buy another damn console.
He was great in Wild at Heart. The resigned look on his face when he realised he’d been betrayed and was about to die, barking at the hyenas on the TV.
That’s not a hot take, and it’s pretty much agreed that it had the best ending in the series.
He’ll always be the best part of the MCU.
Him and Richard Farnsworth at the end of Lynch’s The Straight Story, all 3 minutes of it, was some of the most affecting acting I’ve ever seen. I don’t think I could watch it right now.
I’m so glad we got to see him again in Twin Peaks. His performance conveyed a gentle, empathetic sadness that I wish we could have seen more of. RIP.
I’m embroiled in two great games right now. The first is the tense and cerebral sci-fi thriller, Prey. Oh man, do I love Prey. This might be my second favorite game of 2017 behind Breath of the Wild. Much like that game, it features an elegant take on open-world design that feels expansive but never bloated. It’s the…
Hey! This is Richard Nixon’s Scream Queen rankings. You just crossed out his name and put yours.
More RDR. John Marston finished his Mexico expedition for the cartoonishly evil Feds. It’s a good section, but the idea that the federal government would allow an unpaid mercenary to assist in overthrowing the Mexican government just to capture two minor bandits strains credulity a bit.
I think the Arcade Classics is a fine place to start with the Switch’s Virtual Console. These are all upgraded versions of NES games which were only ever released in the arcade. Retro enthusiasts have been clamoring for their re-release for ages. (I admit that I’m much less desperate for a proper Switch Virtual…
Real quick PSA regarding WAYPTW: We realize how important it is for the community to have these up at a consistent time and place. So going forward, WAYPTW will hit the Gameological page at midnight Central and appear on the AVC homepage at a later time. Cool?
Literally the only worthwhile awards show monologue ever:
If Bust-a-Move is Puzzle Bobble, then what do you call Bubble Bobble? Also Bubble Bobble, or something different to avoid confusion with Puzzle Bobble?
Nintendo has said that the ability to download classic games will be part of their online subscription service that launches in 2018. I suspect that they’re still working the kinks out of how to combine that with an “a la carte” virtual console in a way that doesn’t lead to the appearance of double-dipping.
