Relatively minor thing but for the time being Legion is still tied to the X-Men movie universe if anything, and only indirectly. Guardians of the Galaxy and all that MCU stuff is still separate.

From January:

The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess remakes are coming, I have little doubt about that. Just a bit early since TP HD isn’t that old.

I remember being slightly disappointed when the minus world glitch didn’t work in Super Mario All-Stars, even though there’s really no point to it (the Japanese version of the glitch was much better).

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but apparently they “fixed” the Yakuza thing so you can no longer play the full game regardless of when you downloaded it.

Realizing this mechanic in 3D could be such a cool thing.

I love Minish Cap, among other things it’s not so directly based on A Link to the Past as the GB/GBC games. Aesthetically it’s like a 2D companion to Wind Waker, and the central shrinking mechanic is a good one that’s more than just another spin on the Light World/Dark World dynamic. Hopefully we’ll see it on the

“Link’s Awakening is the best 2-D Zelda game” - It would be a contender if Nintendo released a version that let you use more buttons. Two buttons is just not enough for a game designed around A Link to the Past’s control scheme, having to constantly equip and unequip items to let you use your sword, your shield, your

Hmm, now I’m coming off like this passionate defender of Thimbleweed Park, which is not really the case. I was not impressed by the ending, the big twist was like “okay, let’s see what they can do with that” and the answer was “not much”.

Just thought I’d mention that Ron Gilbert says he wanted to leave several narrative questions left open for interpretation. There are quite of few of them (SPOILERS), like who killed the German and Franklin, what was with the signals, the red eyes and the secret meeting in the woods. I think there are enough clues

Regardless of media it’s a surprisingly rare thing to feel like you have no idea where a narrative might take you. Genre conventions are so pervasive.

I’m glad to hear I’m not the only insane person with 300 hours on a single save file.

BotW is Nintendo taking a look at the open world genre, and saying “well this is all well and good, except this little thing, and this little thing”, and the seemingly simple changes like letting you climb anything, glide off anything and mark your own map end up having a huge impact on the game overall. Other

The Yiga ambushes, yes. Didn’t realize you’ve played it before.

Just a warning: one thing you have to do to gain access to the desert Beast triggers an irreversible change in the overworld that can be quite annoying. You might want to consider doing it last.

Well Pokemon is kind of a special case since the games are developed by Game Freak, who are not second party but a third party developer, one that shares ownership of the franchise with Nintendo and Creatures through the joint venture Pokemon Company. They have a long working relationship and Nintendo can make their

Joel was originally working on a way to bring back all previous castmembers for the reboot, but it turned into a logistical nightmare so he ultimately decided to go for the all-new cast instead. I think that and a lack of communication on the matter on Joel’s part (apparently they heard about the new cast the same way

No, it would have to be based on the Lynch movie specifically to be considered a remake, or at least partially. It will be a new adaptation of the source material.

The original novel consists of ‘books’ 1-3, pretty sure the plan is to adapt it into a trilogy of movies. A lot has changed in franchise filmmaking since the Lynch adaptation, and everyone knows one of the biggest problems was trying to squeeze it all into one movie.

I wonder if they’ll spend more time on the narrative in the next Zelda entry, when they won’t have to worry about reinventing the franchise. Majora’s Mask and Wind Waker featured some very good storytelling.
