Everything on every social media platform is either a TikTok link or a screenshot of a Twitter post.

Shame that this is a slideshow for some reason.

...reinforced something I had suspected for a while: a good chunk of the content being viewed on Facebook is reposted stuff from somewhere else, yesterday’s tired memes.

They had this at a festival I went to in April. Cool concept but it wasn’t implemented well. There just wasn’t enough places to return the cups, and they didn’t really explain the what and where very well to everyone.

Japan has given us the cultural template for this shit for decades now. I’m not saying Musk’s depopulation ramblings have merit, but there’s an awful lot of people there who think it’s perfectly acceptable to have a ‘relationship’ with a pillow or a youtube chatbot >.>

I feel like in years to come, when the dust settles on this phenomenon of para-social relationships, there’ll be a LOT of psychological reports, and general cultural fallout from those males who transitioned into their 30s and older with only _this_ kind of experience in relationships (be they emotional or sexual -

Make "contacts only" the default and you don't need a noise when someone you don't know AirDrops you their boner.

On Holdo: My headcanon was that the Rebels have a typical top-down chain of command that you’ll find in many militaries*: The plans were shared, just not to hotshot fighter jocks. And why should they, especially if they mutinied?

The core of the movie is sound. The relationship between Rey and Renn is great, and setting the story in a slow motion chase is a great idea that nobody had done in Star Wars thus far. There are smaller problems (the bombing run in space is kind of dumb, and a few other things), but the bigger problems are that the

A film? No. This is a property that would work best as a TV series IMO. A film would just shrivel the concept down to action focused superficiality, and miss the opportunity for te character depth and twists a longform serial would allow.

No, thanks, I have a new best friend.

I have a feeling that this new business model / reboot will be a huge, huge success.

Must admit, when I was remote working, I was spending more time working.

...BioShock released to critical acclaim, with particular praise for its atmosphere and narrative, which incorporated ideas from author George Orwell and most notably philosopher Ayn Rand.

Infinite is still a feast for the eyes on PC, especially when you approach Comstock House. The image when those giant heads are protruding from beyond the stormclouds still give me chills.

Bioshock was a game changer at the time. It felt like a turning point in video games. It was very influential and things would would never be the same both in graphics and story telling. It was ahead of it’s time and still holds up to most modern games.

That’s it right there. It’s not just that the Discovery execs want to make money, they want to make money with the *least amount of effort possible.* If you told these guys that they could make twice as much but would have to actually put in the effort of making quality content, they wouldn’t do it. Too much work.

Discovery is going to strip WB for parts in order to pay off their debt and they are going to do it in the worst way possible. Make money from cartoons? Please, they don’t know how to do that. If they did, they wouldn’t be removing anything from HBO Max, but adding stuff to it.

This has now become the official anthem of computer saboteurs.
