I’ve been playing this over the weekend and it’s amazing. The best part of it are the accessibility options that allow you to tweak how punishing the game is. You can edit how much loot you lose if you die or whether there’s a timer on exploration. This was extremely welcome for me, as without, I would’ve gotten too

“this is just a issue of when a “offroad/work” vehicle becomes a mom carrier that does no real work and needs efficiency on the normal roads.”

The venn diagram of people buying Cybertrucks and people driving on original factory tires until they are bald is just a circle...

this is just a issue of when a “offroad/work” vehicle becomes a mom carrier that does no real work and needs efficiency on the normal roads.

I think it’s a matter of skill. I’ve played very few games in my life that felt clunky with keyboard and mouse, and none of them were GTA. But I’m well-skilled in keyboard and mouse for gaming, while I’ve needed or wanted a gamepad less and less, only really using it when I’ve had no choice.

I’m not sure where people seem to imply that videogame making of this level is easy. I’m sure QA takes 3 years alone, nevermind all the company bureaucracies and meetings that go on, possible last minute changes, an 8 - 10 year cycle seems par for the course now.

Yes and no? RDR2 required an insane amount of time&resources and between that&GTA5 the bar for a sequal is incredibly high.

I’d love to know Rockstar/Take Two’s business reasoning for delaying the PC versions of their games. If this was 2003, the obvious answer would be “piracy” but these days, PC versions make more than enough money to offset any potential losses from piracy. Throw in the MTX revenue from GTA Online and delaying the PC

I read this headline and thought “GTA VI is coming out on the PS6 and whatever we’re calling the next Xbox”.

It's because of the way online took off. They'd have been nuts to put down their cash cow before milking every last drop.

Not surprising.

Seems incredibly shortsighted given that PC game sales were only about 15% below all COMBINED console sales last year.Let alone modded PC RP servers have been what’s keeping GTA online still relevant on Twitch.

Probably more likely that the games both heavily feature gun violence, and Japan really, really doesn’t like guns.

More like “The legal situation existing for decades is weird”.

If I recall correctly, the only thing that is even remotely “mature” about Jet Force Gemini is that the female character’s boobs jiggle a bit. But since when does Japan have an issue with that?

makes zero sense to me.  but im not japanese...goldeneye 007...for 18 and older...haha.  i guess that other game must be really riske

The infantilization is weird.

Well that was neat. Wish the advance text prompt didn’t skip the whole section of dialogue. Didn’t even know about Black Mesa: Blue Shift, gonna check that out later.

Well Mike Tyson is real and Chucky isn’t...

Even if the game did have more offensive options... does beating Mike Tyson in a boxing game prove you could kick his ass?
