Toyota execs meeting: “How about Mega-Tercel!?”

Guh, Guh, Guh, Vroom, Vroom, Guh Guh...

Yeah, I’m not sure that economic theory works out. ;)

Realistically, unless you’re buying a NEW car with a manual, you are not doing your part. Manufacturers couldn’t care less what options you shop for on a 6 year old used car...

Wholeheartedly disagree with you on this point. I’m a sucker for a pillarless coupe, and most of the back seats in cars like that are just fine for kids or smaller adults. (I am well beyond 18, and have had many 2-door and 4-door cars before developing this preference).

My initial reaction was, “All the impracticality of a Jeep Scrambler without the pesky off-road ability.” But after looking through the photos it is evident that this is a labor of love, and it looks like it’s being done really well. Scrambliberty and justice for all!

Is this a joke? It’s like he did a design study on how to make an entire car look like the bangle butt...

My dad was a detective in the 1980's and it was common for detectives in his department to use seized vehicles as their unmarked cars. Once, when I was about 10 years old, he picked me up from my Mom’s house in a bright red 300ZX Turbo of this generation, and in my mind he was basically Sunny Crocket from Miami Vice...

Are those “bumpers” actually fuel tanks?

Look at the prices of what at the time in the 1970's was literally the flagship car for Mercedes (ringing up sticker prices higher than most mortgages), and tell me again how an early 1990's Plymouth Laser is both collectible and also somehow worth $14k!?

Oh wow! I hadn’t caught the swap, but now that I see the still image from the front, the grille makes it pretty obvious.

I love this car, but it’s solidly crackpipe at this price. You can buy a numbers-matching early 6 series in excellent, un-restored condition for this price, and that will continue to appreciate in value.

But what abou...

The list is for people who want to look (to an untrained eye) like they ride motorcycles. For those of us in the know, wearing a Roadcrafter (or most other Aerostitch gear) is usually a good indication that: A) you ride... B) For long distances and in all conditions, C) You have 10 or more years riding experience.

I think we’re talking about people who are generally conditioned to be driving, suddenly shifting to becoming passengers and trying to fill their commute times with reading, netflix bingeing, gaming, etc.

Oops, disregard. I guess only the V-6 were available w/ the 5-Speed.

Plus the Linc had a 5-Speed option in the V8 RWD Trim!

I was wondering that too, but I noticed that one of the professors mentioned increasing air pressures for high-speed applications. I wonder if pneumatic tires handle heat better than the available airless tire options.

“Analytical Analysis,” used to determine factual facts about highly high-speed tires.

Solution: Rectal blood/alcohol tester that remains inserted for the duration of your commute. Don’t like it? DON’T DRIVE DRUNK!!!
