I would think car insurance companies would have an incentive to notify their customers of any open recalls, and even possibly charge more for refusals to make repairs. It surely adds additional risk of damage to the vehicle. Maybe this is the approach if folks don’t want the DMV/government involved.

As if I didn’t already want a C30 badly enough, now there is *this* article. My goodness I want one of these little hatches!!

I am so happy that I suggested the Captiva for this column! I was having a shit morning trying to figure out how to solve the overpayment my wife made to the electric company in the order of $5,200. That email made me feel better.

Oh god Volvo, don’t do this to me. I’m not really wanting to spend that much money on a car, really. But damn that looks just about perfect. Tom, I will have to hire you to find the best deal on one when they come out if I get the plaid interior, turbo Volvo itch.

This three-tone black/grey/white monstrosity from the 2017 Prius makes me ill.

On a level surface, you are fine. For me, it’s just a habitat this point - I even engage the parking brake in the garage.

I have used the parking brake in my automatics for years. “The transmission isn’t a kickstand” is a phrase that stuck with me. Also, in college I had to street park on a steep hill. If I didn’t use the parking brake there, the transmission would make a significant thud/clunk when shifted out of park. So now I use it

Fiiine, I GUESS. Get a Volvo C30 R-Design with a stick for $12,000 and put the rest towards parts. Be diferent and fancy with 3 doors, 5 cylinders, and a 6 speed manual.

Such a strikingly handsome luxury car. I’d still choose the wagon version, the V90, which does come in a lovely shade of brown.

Spend $5900 on this Volvo XC Turbo, $4,000 on parts, and the other $5,000 on a daily driver. Why not hoon a luxury wagon in the dirt?

We replaced our 2010 Honda Fit a few years ago with a 2016 Civic sedan. We miss the Fit

It’s not old (yet) but it’s a 2001 V70 project I have started on.

I’m not surprised that the Ford small-car automatic transmission engineers shuddered at the GM product. It’s what they do best.

For maximum efficiency, CVT and/or hybrid is the way to go. These choices are also VERY popular amongst the enthusiast crowd - just look at the sales success that is the Toyota Prius!

I bet they use it as an added name to an existing vehicle line, such as Crosstrek Evoltis. They’d make me really happy if they released a Levorg Evoltis in the USA. Even if the car was boring, at least the name would be the quirky Subaru I love.

Gooodyear’s “We continue to believe that there is no safety defect with the G159 size 275/70R22.5 tire” defense is coming apart faster than a G159 at 80mph on a hot day.

Hey! It’s down to $899! #Bargain

VW Atlas Tanoak. It would give us a rear engined VW and the world’s best frunk (front bed? fred?) for us to talk about.

Had a 1993 Chevrolet Corsica named “Sancho” that was . . . well, a Corsica. When I got in the car after work, the rusted bolts that held the front of the driver seat broke and the seat tipped back to an undrivable position. It was 11:30pm, I couldn’t afford a tow and only had the one car. So I threw the bald full size

True, it is not a proper kei car by the specs. But still has that adorable charm!
