There was a 3rd video, in which she went into how The Hobbit trilogy fucked over New Zealand.  It was call The Desolation Of Warners.

NZ folded and changed workplace labour laws for the original LotR movies. The Hobbit Law meant anyone working in the film industry can only be considered a contractor, not an employee. No union, none of many of the benefits that a regular employee gets.

Bad take. They employed both Bobby Moynihan and Ron Funches. They are therefore heroes...filthy, infectious heroes.

The first AvP movie isn’t good, but it’s not awful, especially for a Paul W. S. Anderson movie, and it stars Sanaa Lathan, like more movies should.

The first AvP is like a fun 50s creature feature B-movie. Now it’s reasonable to be disappointed that’s what came of a mash up of two decidedly R-Rated series, the older of which started nearly twenty years after the 50s ended, but fun is fun.

I haven’t watched AvP, but upvoted for the Sanaa Lathan appreciation.

Because the character was a Manson girl and that’s how they behaved (I don’t know anything about what Tarantino did at the Oscars).

It’d be like giving him flack for forcing Christopher Walz to say anti-Semitic things in Inglorious Basterds.

I mean he was born in San Francisco but he lived in Hong Kong from 3 months to 18 years old.

I think it ends with Ravonna being the big bad for the six-episode run, but a post-credit scene has her reporting to someone - Kang.

It was Funny or Die videos, not Twitter, but the guy who made the “Zack Morris is Trash” videos was hired to write on the Saved by the Bell reboot.

God, I’ll always remember leaving the theater that day and you could just feel the excitement in the air. It was such a mindblowing experience watching Smokey and the Bandit for the first time.

Do you guys not have google? Right-wingers bring this up constantly, yet there are countless articles explaining the history of when and why the parties eventually switched sides on a lot of fundamental issues.

Which would be fine if they weren’t getting lucrative endorsements, TV and web-series, exposure, and lots of money for it.

the way to feel is sympathetic/willing to offer condolences because a man has cancer, and accepting of his privacy/that he may not be ready to share intensely personal details of his diagnosis with the whole fucking world just yet. it’s pretty simple.

That makes them harder to sell to streaming services.”

Wasn’t Quibi a union busting experiment? Screw those guys if the crews aren’t properly compensated

This story does not need a continuation in any way. Take a page from Jessica Biel’s other show The Sinner  and start over with season 2.

Hey, thanks to everybody for the kind words. I’ve really enjoyed writing this column for the last 8 years, and it means a lot that so many people have been regular readers (and commenters) for so long.

hey it’s Mark, showrunner for season 1 of DFE and I just wanted to thank you all for watching and Ms. Miller for these thoughtful recaps.
