There’s a Christmas episode they haven’t gotten to air this season (as it started in April), so technically tonight is only Episode 299. Which is still a lot of episodes!
It felt too dark, and the pacing was off, even if they had done the finale. It didn’t need to be 15 episodes again, but 9 episodes wasn’t enough.

Janney is now the only original cast member left. It’s somewhat common for long-running dramas, but fairly rare for a comedy, outside of something like Saved by the Bell: The New Class.
I was mostly on board for the first half, but by the time they got to the high school, I just wanted it to end, and it kept going and going.
