I assume it’s like Hulu, where a handful of ABC shows are still contractually made to have one 30-second ad at the start of the show. I think Grey’s and maybe SHIELD are the only ones left that have that.
I love Sean Gordon Murphy’s art, but I haven’t been able to get into anything he’s written. Punk Rock Jesus was a complete mess, and I found Batman: White Knight very overrated.
I’ve been rewatching old Muppets stuff before this starts, and am now on Muppets Tonight, which I haven’t seen since they first aired almost 25 years ago, when it was my favourite show.
I love the Wikipedia summary text when you Google them.
I only learned about her a few weeks ago, from James Acaster’s Perfect Sounds podcast:
“A note to desktop users: If you’d like to view this story in a scrolling layout, you can narrow your browser window.”
Is the Masked Singer thing because they already shot the next season and it would cost too much to replace, or do they just not care? (It could also be both.)
There’s no way to legally watch it in the UK. The most legal thing would be to import a DVD, but that costs about £40+.
Yeah, despite a UK-heavy cast, it never aired over here. I’d hope Sky Comedy or someone picks it up eventually.
I never put together that that was him in Firefly. Loved that performance.
It seems an odd choice to give a sketch show to one of the only SNL people who never shows up in sketches.
I suspect that if Michael Moriarty hadn’t gone off the deep end, he would have been brought back at some point.
Here I Go Again came out in ‘82 though, so maybe that one’s just a cover.
Do people know that there’s a Das Boot TV series? Lizzie Caplan, Vicky Krieps, and Vincent Karteiser are in it! There are two seasons!
I’ve enjoyed Hightown a good deal, though I’m not super-optimistic about a second season. It probably could have been a few episodes shorter though, even at only eight eps.
On his relationship with critics, Kaufman is one of the only people I can think of who had a genuinely contentious interview on Mark Kermode and Simon Mayo’s radio show, when he was on to promote Anomalisa.
Oof.
I don’t know much about this either, but the issue I could see is that Syfy are paying for a show that’s previously only been on DC Universe. If Warners then say it’s also going to be on HBO Max, which has many more subscribers than DCU, I could see Syfy not being happy with that. Who knows, though?
Boo, I subscribed for one month for Hamilton, but as I did it today, I’ll be unsubscribed by the time the Muppets start. Oh well.
