I think that hyphenating is a more than reasonable compromise though. It’s such a personal thing. I do myself use a hypenated version on occasion and I think possibly at some point we’ll all adopt it... My husband and I have very similar surnames and our names together sound hilarious and that is fun.

We did at one point, I think. When I got married he basically stopped talking to me and I don’t know why. It’s not a normal or healthy relationship, and I’ve spent too many painful years trying to take responsibility for that and feeling like a failure, and now those cards are the only contact we have.

He was supposed to sleep downstairs, but from the first night refused to sleep alone. We spent months trying to sleep train him but he wouldn’t sleep unless he was where we were. He hangs out on the bed during the day, runs around fields like a fucking maniac, plays like a 4 foot kitten, and then sleeps in a tiny ball

N/A. He’s British.

My Dad assumed I would, despite my already having 2 children who have my (his) last name. Despite expressly being told otherwise, he addresses birthday cards to Firstname Husbandsname for not just me, but my kids as well.

It does seem absolute and scary. My father is a high functioning alcoholic, and I drank to cope with its effect on me, and to feel close to him. We are estranged, it hurts me. I had pneumonia recently and spent a week on my back unable to eat and drink anything but water, and as I recovered I found myself really

Ok, super.

Hey, nobody’s conflating your drinking a couple of glasses of wine at the weekend with alcoholism. Nobody but you used the word alcoholic.

2 beers (pints) a night = 6 units? Ish?

I’m in the UK and would appreciate examples, please, because I certainly haven’t encountered this.

I very much appreciate this collection of fucking top notch cover art, thank. you.

As I recall, Fireman Sam seems to spend much of his time dealing with a little shit called Norman with some undiagnosed behavioural disorder simply because he has a single mother in full time work. So hopefully they can address that too if they haven’t already.

I just dismissed a reply to my comment above, from a different commenter. I wasnt going to bring it out of the grey, and so will write a response to this one which already was. This thread is being monitored closely!

Great. Your turn.

... did you actually read what this site published about the Aziz Ansari matter?

It’s a bit of a relief that there *isn’t* any sexual chemistry in this, actually, as a British- because a) Cheryl and b) The Sun and c) it’s January 2018 and d) it’s Rita and for that matter e) it’s Liam and d) WHY THE FUCK WOULD THEY.

I *love* this programme so much and it’s why I refer to “The Crown” as “The Crinne”.

This video is the death knell of millenial pink.

Hi. It is yes but I haven’t heard anyone actually say it since about 2009, and that was probaby on an episode of The Vicar Of Dibley.

Got it.
